  1. Hi All, This developed when bitch was 2 years old (after a bite - despite it being well cleaned) - best way to describe it was kind of blisters with puss underneath which eventually scabbed. It has improved to its original condition but its left her with no fur on her nose and her nose still looks scabby. Is not itchy and is not contageous (kenneled with other dogs) Have spent a fortune at vets over the years trying to establish cause with no results: Swabs and blood samples taken all came back clear Put her on £60 a bag special dog food in case it was some food intolerance Had antibiot
  2. My bitch had her front outside toe off after she broke it - as you say its not affected her performance at all.
  3. Good idea - or try making sleeping area small enough just to sleep in (with temporary partitions) until they learn to go outside - most dogs wont' sleep in thier own piss.
  4. Well bred whippet/grey. Great on small fields, quick on the turn. Suitable for R/H/F - heart of lions and never give up even on things that bite back - imo great dogs.
  5. Smart pup you have there.
  6. Thank you. She lives up to her name! Dam - 1/2 greyhound, 3/8 whippet, 1/8 deerhound - first pic - fawn bitch. Sire - 3/4 greyhound, 1/4 whippet - second pic.
  7. Just bored, so a few pics from a couple of weeks ago.
  8. I've enjoed nothing more than the experience of having my first (and will be only litter) out of my bitch - purpose bred to keep one for myself. The bitch we kept back is called Rogue and here's a few pics from birth to 13 weeks - will post more as she goes on. Added a couple of new photos from today (14 wks)
  9. Heres a couple of pics - a few days after birth (she did start life as a grey coloured bitch!) And other pics from a couple of days ago - will try and take some of her doing a bit next time! Her breeding is very similar but with a dash of deerhound - so 10/16 greyhound, 5/16 whippet, 1/16th deerhound. Top honcho and I'm slippy lines on sires side too. Keep in touch mate will be nice to watch them growing.
  10. Lovely pup - our whippet/greyhound pup is 13 weeks old today so its interesting to compare - she's about 19lb in weight - be nice to keep in touch to see how they progresss - how much whippet in it? Will try and get an up to date photo on here for you to have a look.
  11. I took my jrt to the vets with loads of tiny ticks on her head. The vet said to use nail varnish remover - it worked - not sure if too strong or suitable for ferret though.
  12. whats this eukanuba ,45 a sack ,i know for a fact ,that the dry i get is just a good as that 45 pound stuff ,does it gurentee your dogs catch rate ,is it like a happymeal were your dog gets adifferet toy every week, for 45 pound what extra 2 you get???? I'm inclined to agree with you Rocky. I dont know whats in this particular Eukanuba brand but I have compared whats in various brands of food eg % protein, etc and there are lots which are made up very much the same - the only difference being a huge difference in price. I suppose its a bit like us when we buy branded food are we paying
  13. Working Wagg £9.99 for 17kilos. They also get all the dinner left overs, pasta, eggs, rabbit etc.
  14. I wouldn';t worry - I've got three bitches who come into season about once a year (all in about May time) - Two of them have had litters so there is no issues with them catching or anything. I think some bitches come into heat twice a year and some once, just depends on your dog.
  15. 10/16 greyhound, 5/16 whippet, 1/16 deerhound - they r bout 11 wks in pics.
  16. At the moment they look quite similar to ours - Red and Rogue.
  17. Hi Mate, Wondered if you could help at all - we just had a litter off our 6 year old bitch so we could keep one ourselves - she's 1/2 greyhound, 3/8th whippet and 1/8th deerhound. The sire is 3/4 greyhound and 1/4 whippet - we have his full breeding lines from the stud owner - his lines include top honcho/im slippy etc but unfortunately we lost touch with the breeder of the bitch from Angelsey - I do remember him saying she was from the lines of a dog called RED - just wondered if you'd heard of this dog?
  18. That sounds a typical scenario where litter mates go to an inexperienced home. Shame she wasn't advised before buying two pups, let alone one. I think you make a fair comment, and hindsights a beautiful thing. I told her and her husband exactly what they were getting and how to treat/train them, I also took them back when she had issues (which didn't take much resolving at all - actually they were really nice dogs) so I was trying to be responsible - but yes if I ever had another litter I would only sell them to working homes.
  19. Cally aged about 6months We've got the mum too in the last pic.
  20. a whippet x greyhound and i might just have that for you am after a bitch? need to finish building kennel yet tho will they take foxes? do you mean could it have taken fox pre ban  Yes, easily catch them and hold them down but not really got the weight behind it to finish it off, thats why we've put a 26" dog over her - hoping to get something a little bit bigger than our bitch with the pup we've kept back. They are full of heart though, loyal and good to train. . Have a friend with a litter of pups but they are bull x's. The fields are pretty small round us
  21. I sold two terrier pups (dog and bitch) to a family. We explained they were from working stock, needed stimulation etc etc etc. Two years after buying pups the woman fones me up in tears - she can't handle them - they're good with people, in the house etc but the minute they go out and see another dog they want to wreck it. Could I have them back?? Told her they needed splitting up and they'd obviously developed a bit of a pack mentality and hit maturity and the working dog in them had kicked in. She left the dog with me - he was snarling and kicking right off at my dogs through the kennel b
  22. Thanks the one on the couch is the mother and we bred the pup ourselves - shes about 6 months old on the pic.
  23. The better weather will soon be here - don't dispair!
