  1. 5.5 months is a bit too young for any dog, cross breed or otherwise, isnt it??
  2. I knew a boy with a dog like that, no shit, he had to strap night sights to its head with their lasses thong, it would have to be a thong that had been worn for a week and a half too, or it wouldnt keep it on, we used to call it gusset sniffer, but what a dog it was when it got its eye in [/quote for a week and a half i bet you could use them thong's for a good bait station just hide in the hedge and the fox's should be running in OR MAKE A GOOD PAN OF BROTH WITH THEM
  3. In an earlier post I said it was always lurcher x lurcher for me, but, this statement wouldnt go as far to saying any old lurcher x lurcher mating, I would have to know the background of anything I was after. I have seen too many lads over the years, kill a copuple of hares sharp, and their dogs instantly becoming immortalised, by them, and believe you me, there are some great bull-shitters out there. In over thirty years I have only bought in a couple of dogs, and even these were reatives to my own. Luckily I can trace one side of my dogs back to Nuttals deerhound x greyhounds in the 70`s,

Scared of the dark I knew a boy with a dog like that, no shit, he had to strap night sights to its head with their lasses thong, it would have to be a thong that had been worn for a week and a half too, or it wouldnt keep it on, we used to call it gusset sniffer, but what a dog it was when it got its eye in

  8. I get it every week, and have done since it was the shooting news, times have changed, and the CW has adpted to this, there is so much more to the countryside than just killing, and the CW reflects this, if it isnt your thing, then dont buy it
  9. Thats a hell of an age mate.. Ive had 2 bitches that I bred that got to 13, both killed rabbits the year they died. I have a pure deerhound bitch here now, 12 years old a couple of weeks ago, and she got a rabbit last week.

  11. Farmer years ago slashed our tyres, someone put metal road pins, the ones with the curly bits on the top that you see around road-works, into his corn fields after painting them yellow dont think the combine liked the taste of them....Hope you find out who it was mate, you will, it always comes out in the wash, and dont be surprised who it was. I had a dog pinched years ago, found out later who it was..but the shitty thing was that some of the people who came to my house, and sat around my table for meals, knew, and never told me.

  20. Its the ones that go back and pinch thing from the farms that I cant abide, Ive poached places for years, and it dosnt matter how good you think you are, someone has seen your lights, but in a lot of cases you are tolerated. Once the quads and chainsaws go walk abouts, its a different story, Where I ive there was a phase where these idiots were hiding behind going out lamping to thieve out of farms, spoilt it for a lot of us. Im a profit hunter, I hunt for numbers so I dont let any idiot spoit it, Ive bumped into many teams on a night, good lads, genuine lads, but, if its one of the 'Z' tea
  21. Deerhounds - deerhound x greyhounds - deerhound lurchers Poachers – country characters – wildlife – true hunting stories – hunting photographs This book has the lot. An informative and also entertaining book reflecting the author’s experience of working Scottish deerhounds and various hybrids produced from them. Bill draws from a deep pool of knowledge describing his ways, and views with these dogs. The book, in part, is an anthology of true hunting stories; these serve to enhance the charm of the book while backing up many statements, and are written with the author’s usual de
  22. JD is right, blues are not as strong as brown hares, but Ive had some cracking days on them over the years, seen many dogs miss none on a day,

  24. I am reminded of a fable, a man takes his son to market to buy a donkey, they are walking home and a passer by stops them. You should be riding that donkey and save one set of legs. The man mounts the donkey and sets off. A few miles on and another passer by stops them. You shouldnt be riding the donkey and be letting your young son walk, he is too young. The man dis-mounts, and his son son rides the donkey. A few more miles up the road, and they are stopped again. The passer by says, one of you shouldnt be riding the donkey, you should both be riding it. The man joins his son on th
