  1. You can breed anything but a bird with three eyes
  2. Quite a few I would think matie
  3. Bred them before, one of the loveliest little hybrids.. Bred them both ways, but, when I used the redpoll cock there were some chicks with beak deformaties, but this sometimes happens too with redpoll mules for some reason..
  4. Lovely birds, the first bullie hybrid I ever bred.. I bred over 20 goldie greenies one season from one pair..now there are some singers..used to bloody deefin me Cock goldie
  5. I would breed with what I see fit, and when I see fit..and no one on this gods earth will dictate to me otherwise
  6. The moon has never put me off..yes its better without it, but better being out than in for me..the only thing weather wise that stops me is fog..
  7. My camera does 8fps, but I rarely if ever use it, 4-5 is what I mainly fire at.. Cant speak for Canons as I have never owned one..but out of the Nikons youve mentioned I would be going for the D200, and you can get them quite reasnoble second hand and refurbished since the D300 came out. Technology wise there was a massive jump from the D80 to the D200, but not so much from the D200 to the D300, so at between £300 and £400 second hand, you have a camera that isnt too far behind the D300, and that has enough mega pixles to do excellent A3 prints What esles do you need to look at?..a good q
  8. Yip Nikon D40 is a good camera, but it does have issues around what lense is compatible with it..there are some great deals on it too, but it has been superceeded by some great others, the D80 which will take all lenses for example, and then the massive jump to the D200, one hell of a camera. Another camera range that isnt too well publised, but which produce some excellent results is the Fuji S range, I have an old S2 pro, I think they are up to the S5 pro now, 12 million mega pixels,,I keep this camera as a standby, as my Nikon lenses interchange with the Fuji body, and I have had some good
  9. Kay, the kids sleep under the stars doon there, so dogs and horses have no chance..
  10. No matie, not mine, belong to one of the lads on the camp.... What you cant see Kay, is the wind, it was absolutely freezing, the youngin was getting shelter, passed today, and it was in virtually the same place..
  11. I thought you would like that one Kay...
  12. A couple of shots, the owl one is a bit dark as it was taken in poor light..
  13. Yes swans are always a good subject to photograph..well done
  14. Yes JD, I was set up for spoonbills of all things, but I snapped this one because of the feather quality mainly.. Thanks for the comments people
  15. I know, its not the run of the mill mute swan..I took the picture and liked the feather detail on it when I seen it, so saved it from the bin..
  16. Whats your memories of the above breeding from your side doxhope, were the ancestors of the pups to be all rounders?Ive seen these dogs run and catch and they are very determined animals.they dont hang about when theres a quarry spieces in front of them.I'm looking forward to reading about the dogs of your past. Doxhope Hylda was bred out of the best hare coursing pure bred deerhound male Ive ever had the pleasure to spectate, Coronach Pennys Chieftain.. And he was one of the all time greats in the organised deerhound coursing world. He was only ever beaten once in his carear, and that
  17. Dont know about where to go now for a dxg, but if I was looking for a pure working deerhound, (to maybe produce something special dxg wise in the future) there has been a bitch mated very recently, and the pups would be worth a look at..Take heed you Irish lads with deerhounds, because something from this mating would go very well with whats over your end at the minute, very well indeed.
  18. Nuala is out of a litter you advertised on here a couple of years back for a couple of lads - just wondered if that was the sire, as it looks very like him - mind you, first x deers are all much of a likeness to look at J sent me a couple of pics of Nualas grandparents and great grandparent on her maternal side, dogs called Jin, Sam & Storm. Got you now Jan... No, thats not the sire, but it is related to the sire of yours..in fact they all are. Yes the bitches side was from Gin.. cant remember the Sam dog, but yes I remember Storm, a decent worker
  19. Doxhope that one at the back on the right isnt Nualas sire is it? The back right is a dog called Axel, a really good worker on anything, featured on some of the Lurchermania videos, bred out of my deerhound Thorn, the two at the from are both out of my deerhound Lewis. Not sure of the name Nualas you mentioned matie..
