  5. well i see it like this,,,,,,,,they work their hearts out for you all year or whenever the hunting season is,,i think that a warm bed and some water to drink isnt much to ask is it,,,,,if owners cant see their way to that,,then they dont deserve to keep em...the jill i found would be in with the others if i had my way,,but im frightened she may kill or injure them,,,,thats why theyre seperate,,,,,,,,,i dont work mine,,,theyre pets,,,but still believe in people lookin after the workers lol
  6. i have my 2 jills together with 4 pet blankets and the wifes old dressing gown in their hammock,,,,theyre in a shed 7x5.....then i have the jill that i found,,shes alone in a 8x2x2 hutch,,,shes got 2 fleeces,,2 pet blankets and an old sheet in her sleeping quarters,,,that got polystyrene on the outside roof,,,,,then they all get warm soya milk for breakfast and bed time with,,water available at all times,,,i check the single jill is warm by putting myhand in her bed when she gets out,,its warm inside so i know even though shes alone shes ok,,,the other 2 have each other for company and their h
  7. I FIND IT BEST TO USE THE SPADE I HAVE IN THE BOOT OF THE CAR WHEN I GET STUCK IN ICE,,,,,,,NOT ONLY DOES HE PUSH THE CAR FOR ME,,,HE COMES IN HANDY FOR DIGGING HOLES AS WELL
  8. why dont you try working the albino jill that was given tyou?,,,i found an albino jill on 4th dec,,she bites,,,but i dont work mine,,,i think the jill i found is a worker{or was},,i put a furry toy on a stick in her hutch and she ragged the f**k out of it ,,
  9. if he takes his ferret fishing,,lamping or whatever,,,,and he finds his method of carrying em good to him...i dont see why everyone should rip the piss out of him,,,,if it works for him,,let him get on with it,,,he was only asking at the beginning of the thread if anyone else chose that method of transport for his ferrets,,,,whats the harm in that?
  10. cheers mate,,now i know

  13. sorry to hear that mate i got 2 jills in a garden shed,,they sleep in a hammock with 4 pet blankets and an old dressing gown for bedding,,,,,,i got one that i found a few weeks ago,,,shes in a 8x2x2foot hutch with an upstiars bed area,,,ive got polystyrene on the outside of the hutch to keep it a little warmer,,,,,mine seem okay, although i do worry about the one on her own ,,as for bottles they keep freezing so ive resorted to bowls for the water,,,,they dont freeze over so quick,,,they sleep a lot during the night so they dont drink a lot,,can they dehydrate that quick?...can someone tell me?

  16. the answer to it not working is to get rid of it perhaps,,but some people have more patience/time than others to put into teaching the ferret to hunt,,,,i know nothing about ferret hunting at all and im the first to admit,,but to just kill it coz it wont work is not a good practice id say,,,just give it away or sell it to someone as a pet mate,,,theres lotsa people out there prepared to buy her off you no doubt,,,if youre not worried bout money ,,just give her away,,,after all,,,,,you wouldnt go and hit someone over the head with a spade if they wouldnt go to work would ya?,,just my own opinio
  17. sorry to hear that mate,,im new on here and mine are just pets not workers,,sure you feel a sense of sadness/loss about ginger,,very sad
  18. if shes laid back and used to handling il have her,,,,,the one i found i think is/was a worker,,her head was a bit red,,maybe from bunny blood i dunno,,shes put loadsa weight on now and filled out nicely..ive only had her a week,,shes a nipper though,,as my father in law found out much to his unwilling participation lol...i dont wanna put her in with my jills though just in case she does kick off...mine are well laid back,,so far in fact theyre horizontal,,,,fancy a swap? lol
  19. sorry about that double quote thing above,,aint got the hang of this yet...but dont knock her on the head,,,theres plenty out there that will give her a good home,,not everyone hunts with their ferrets,,i dont,,,they are good pets..my kids love em,,,,if you dont want her pm me il have her,,,i live in medway,,cheers..other wise good luck with the perseveirance on the hunting front,,,
