  1. Do you have any permission mate?
  2. Thanks again guys - think I'm gonna leave it til the end of sept before I go out again - hopefully we'll have this years summer weather back by then - wind & rain. lol. good luck with yer seasons. Steve
  3. Thanks for the replys and the info lads. Generic question but when roughly does the 'green stuff' start growing? Think this farmer mainly grows wheat and rape seed. I'm keen to get out but don't want to ruin things for the rest of the season. Steve
  4. Hi. Just wanted to ask a quick question, as last night I had a quick look round on a bit of permission that was full of rabbits back in March. The weather conditions weren't the best for lamping, with the moon out most of the time, but there was a bit of wind. I just couldn't believe the lack of rabbits! The few that were out were sat close to the hedge. This is nothing like last season. When i acquired this permission the fields had already been planted and rabbits were sat out in the middle of the field, sometimes up to 50 at a time. Last night i saw about 4 or 5 in the same area.
  5. A friend of mine has lost a male common kestrel in the Whitchurch area of Bristol (BS14) if any sighting please PM me. Cheers Steve
  6. Got me first day penciled in for 20th Sept then It'll be every other weekend after that!
  7. Put an ad up on 'Guns on Pegs' under the classified section - worked for me.
  8. That's the way to do it mate, not begging on here for people to give you their permission. Good on you, should have a good season with all that lot.
  9. Brilliant offer mate, if only we were closer. If you ever have anything over the South West area let me know!
  10. Thanks for the advice lamber - much appreciated.
  11. Will do - thanks lamber - do they sort out picking up only? Was going to try there later in the summer anyway to get a bit of shooting for next season. cheers Steveclark
  12. Just to clarify that I am volunteering my services here and will not be looking for any payment, just want to get the dog a bit of picking up - just a querey I had from another THL member. Also not looking to be a sole picker up, happy to work along existing pickers if the work load warrents it.

  15. Thanks for the replys. Not looking to be a sole picker uper (if that's a word!!) just offering to help out on a shoot if someone could do with an extra picker up - and of course it will be free of charge! I do if for the love of the sport, not for payment. I've joined NOBS but have heard they're not all that good? So trying a few different avenues. SteveClark
  16. I'm looking for a bit of picking up for my 3yr old ESS for next season. I already beat with her at my local shoot but I'm ideally looking for a few days picking up to vary things for her a bit. The shoot I beat at already has a number of people picking up so I don't get much chance. I live in Bristol but I'm willing to travel for the opportunity and can be available most days during the week and always on a saturday! Dog is fully trained and steady to game and I have over 10 years experience of working ESS and being in the shooting field. So if any of you out there run a shoot or are just
