  1. hey bud, personally i would either go for a berretta or winchester SX3. the SX3 is the fastest firing semi auto out. both guns can be bought for about £800 atb alex
  2. Thanks for all your advise. After a long think last night and after taking in all your advice I decided to give it another fresh start... Me and my hunting friend went out to our pigeon permission and set up. As a keen rifleman, in my job, and hobby, I have always kept one eye closed. Today I fought my natural instinct and kept both open. I also was more relaxed in my firing position. Before I knew it I was getting two pigeons in a row and my accuracy increased massively !! Your hel is greatly appreciated!! Thanks everyone Atb Alex

  6. Hi all, I have recently been to my local gun shot and took a look at some torches as winter will be round before you know it I was shown the ND3 laser torch. It looked the part and had a perfect laser circle. But for £300 its a steep climb for a torch. Has anyone ever used one when they've been out lamping? If you've used one, what have you found to be the good and bad points about it when out hunting? Is it easy to spot rabbits with it? And does the laser light not spook them as much? Would be nice to know what theyre like before buying one. Atb Alex
  7. Thanks for the advice guys, I have had a few clay lessons, guess I just need to keep at it Sorry bout the spelling and incorrect title, working off an I pad and it has a mind of it's own sometimes Atb Alex
  8. Hi, I'm new to shooting with shot guns.i have bought my first shotgun and. Went hunting with it the other day and hit two pigeons out of 50 cartriges .... Basically... I'm shit! I know it takes getting useful but I need t know the basic angles of aiming with an over under. Head on wha the aim? Over head? What's the aim when they go left to right ( vise versa) as in how much in front do you have to aim? Stuff like that. What seems basic to you is vital to me so please help. Please help me get going on the right foot! Atb Alex

  10. Hey all, Just bought my first shotgun and i wanted to ask some questions I went out on my first shot gun shoot and I found an awesome place to hide. It's in the corn and it's head height so the pigeons dont see you until the last second. It seems to be directly on a pigeon flight path. Every 10 min they all seem to fly ove the same spot. I have bought some plastic 25 per set pigeon decoys... Will this work to attract them? How can I make my own moving decoys? Was I just lucky or do pigeon flights have patterns? What's the best time ofdayfor them as I have only know rabbit p
  11. Hi everyone It's been a while since I last put a hunt on here but this one was quite a lot of fun. We went out at 5pm that day to one of our main rabbit permissions. We spent a few hours hunting and managed to bag 2 rabbits each (me and Scott ). It was getting near 8pm and we decided to leave the permission until It was dark so we set off to another permission. Unfortunately no such luck over there !! Once it was dark we headed back. We haven't lamped there in over 2-3 months and we had our hopes that they wouldn't be lamp shy!! As soon as we hopped the fence onto the permission,

  17. Thanks for your post wilf, I looked at some reviews online and a few said that there is a common fault with the barrels. Apparently a lot of them aren't aligned properly. Did you have any such problems with your 686s? Atb Alex
  18. Hi all, I'm in the process of buying my first shotgun and I have been stuck for choice. I was originally going for a semi auto but then decidedd that and over and under would be more appropriate as a choice. I wanted one that would keep it's value and not fall apart at the first shot so I thought beretta would be the make for me. I saw a beretta 686 special at my local gun shop and it felt perfect. It's going for £800. As I am inexperienced in this field and wanted to know if this is a good shotgun and if for that price there are better over and understand out there? The pric

  24. hey mate, go for a budget range finder. i bought mine brand new off ebay for around £. it works wonders (when i can be bothered using it)(theres only so much you can range find before you know distances by heart ) i dont have it with me at the moment and cant actually remember the name but ill let you know later. cheap, robust and works! if your hunting with an air rifle, you should look for one no more than 200m laser range as youll be going into the big bucks then. will let you know what mines called soon mate atb alex
  25. oops! these photos arent from this month, missed that bit out when i read the terms and conditions sorry! i understand if my votes get voided. sorry for the inconvenience lads. atb alex
