Interesting post no slagging off Yet brilliant could read and enjoy paticipating I would never mark a dog down for scars or work related injuries, come with the job, cant understand how the KC can do it to dogs such as Deerhounds, makes a mockery of the word Hound class. With regards to scarring on Lurchers In my experience I found it can sometimes depend on the dog or bitch themselves, I had a Bedlington x whippet who was a tool top dog,he regularly got cut or injured, eventually I kept him for the night, far less injuries,You wouldnt have been able to look at him and not find a scar,Stev

You were right to Judge in that manner,I also like to see a bit of keeness in a dog also make the owners trot a bit with dog so You can see him move,You might have known the one dog but You wouldnt have known the others, you can only judge on looks, and look past all the bullshit some people spout.

Prey drive the word was invented for this dog CCI12022009_00000.bmp God do I miss him nothing would come between him and quarry,he was injured so many times in the day I ended up using him only at night. A good mate who is dead now called him the white shark Because he reckoned the b*****d never missed nothing

Trapline Steve Albano Mole Traps
heart of wales replied to steve007's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Bought these traps from Kilgerm and here are my thoughts I propably have a collection of 400 assorted traps dufus talpex fenns use them in all situations parks cemeteries moorland lawns all sorts. I bought these and my first thought was hell their light two weigh about as much as on duffus if not a little less less weight to carry less space needed for storage then it come to setting them once I watched the video piece of piss When I went to put them in the ground they are already set to go no mucking about with a pliers for hours Laying once again simples Have put them down -
We have and still do run both types of collie straight Beardies and bordes I personally prefer the beardies for working sheep as the have endless guts and courage particularly close quarter yard work ,ours will confront rams cattle or Yews with lambs, the dont suffer a great deal in warmer weather though sense tells you to do most of the work early morning. The border would have a lot more set in them they would be the trialing type of dog, slighter perhaps a tad quicker but not a great deal

Live Fox Trap - Recommendations?
heart of wales replied to smokingdragon's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Buy the biggest trap if You cant afford it wait until you can the small ones are not as good as the big ones, Cover the trap floor mesh with soil.Bait around and then in the trap for a couple of days along with baiting in the trap, good luck. -
Would like to say a big thank You to everyone off here that came and made the show such a success,There is a lot of bigger shows but this one is just a baby compared to many, five Years seems like yesterday. Big thank You TO Kath Mike & Kelly Jason Richard and Mum without You lot it wouldn't be possible and as much fun, All the judges I know how hard the job is and fully appreciated the effort and commitment, particularly Paul Travers and Nick Valentine who stepped in at the drop of a hat when the other Judges failed to turn up.
