  1. Somebody must know these dogs, for someone to do this if anyone does know them or their owners ,report the b*****ds now, there is no exscuse to do this to any animal let alone dogs. The twats who done this are cowardly sick individuals,it couldnt have just been one person
  2. No I think the video cleary deonstrates that not only did have a trap there that the rat avoided but poisioned bait blocks that he didnt eat neither, Moley cant fault your honesty many fairy story tellers on here never have a blank day or trap that fails I always meet rats with neophobia on a premises with a difficult client supose thats what makes the job intresting
  3. Dont know if I can post photos of the bitch to you through this way but if you check my thread have posted many a photo of her will let you know if she has caught

  4. Thats cracking footage I got the outdoor and indoor cameras, you brought out the Scorsesee in me,will have to get some footage, well done, how did the film end or is it still ongoing.
  5. We Dont get a lot of Sharks around Mid Wales never seen the need to have a dog that will do one Anyway back to the serious part of the thread why a Bedlington x Whippet As I said earlier it depends on what You want a lurcher for Me personally I could take mine to a farm he would mark and kill rats as good as any terrier, same as with rabbits mark catch and retrieve, pre ban he took daylight and lamped hares as he did foxes, with the bigger stuff perhaps I would have been better with the Grey x but the smaller stuff the Whippet x every time, both have their uses but if You are doing more rat
  6. No probs mate well done reset and bait the trap as quickly as You can You have his scent now ,You will probably trap his mate as well.
  7. As long as Your happy which it sounds You are You got a good one,the negatives You have put down I would put down to keeness give me a dog that is keen over one that is not,at least You can work with that,I had a dog My mates called him The White shark, because whenever or whatever dogs were around him when something hit the net hedge or cover he would always be the first there CCI12022009_00000.bmp
  8. Kc70 Just bought another 30 these are the dogs bolloxs nice and light fully subterranean Cant wait for this snow to go handy for tracking but shit for laying mole traps
  9. You have obviously not seen a good Bedlington Whippet working There are good and bad in every type of lurcher,The bedlington whippet would not be the cross I would choose for big open fields, however for smaller fields lots of cover and allround lurcher work ie rabbits hares foxes rats and game birds mine was dynamite,No they wouldnt be as good as a bigger lurcher consistently on lamping or coursing hares and foxes, however ferreting, lamping rabbits and general pest control work which is what I do You cannot find a better workmate. Mine died over Twenty years ago and I have been trying to recr
  10. Thats better trap looks ok,with weather like this should be a good un, if You are sure there is defo foxes in the area, try to make sure there are no dead carcases nearby, you dont want to go to all that hard work and find there feeding of a dead sheep in the next field
  11. I acquired a bought trap well made cost the firm £120 set it as You would any fox trap in Four seasons have caught buzzards cat cubs but no adults Cousin kindly give me one for a job which he made and had accounted for Thirty four in a season,I placed and set it caught adult dog within two days I made my own for another site based on the same workings Three nights result have caught eleven so far
  12. Put some photos of your set up the more the better,I use a dead chicken strip a fair bit of the feathers of make it look like a kill, make the inside of the cage look like the den with the bait at the end,i.e. soil on the floor with bits of feather and bones.
  13. Hi Logun

Was talking to Anthony Yesterday in Merthyr didnt realise You were from the valleys,Could You make them tube traps in a hard plastic tube.It would be strictly between me and You Iam not like most of these ass wipes on here ask Anthony

    Thanks Alun

  14. Sounds daft I know but are you sure that there are rats in the barn,If there are try to eliminate any other food source, and try to make the trap blend in with the barn, try to make a run up to it,with hay or straw bales.Put some photos up as well.
  15. Hi Stubby You seem quite knowledgeable on the ladder trap, looking to build my first,do you think I could build the sides with security panels as I have a few lying about.
  16. If You are walking Your dog through a field with sheep in it he should be on a lead, personally I would ask permission explain to the farmer why you want to, before You enter the field,If You gain permission take him as many times as you can I would start him on a short lead then progress to a long lead,It is one of the best things You can do with a Young dog is break to stock early.
  17. Had Three now since the beginning of November in traps like these all with chicken as bait
  18. I used to own a pair of cockers about twenty Years ago tremendous stamina go through any cover and would only open up when they actually seen quarry the gun boys use to love them because when they opened up they would take the safety off. You cant beat a good springer or cocker for flushing to gun or lurcher as long as they stay within gun range if they dont and they run on ahead like my bedlington You could hit over the head with a brick and you wouldnt stop her luckily my lurcher has worked her out now and stays with her.
  19. Interesting some good points some Badgers around with us where there is a massive badger population, not only hares have suffered but hedgehogs to which used to be very common,I seen one last Year hedgehog that is and that was a rarity. The badger has no enemy other than man or a car,it seems the Hare has many, reading some of the other threads on here tells you a lot about the hares decline,i.e. running them out of season,in deep snow, six or more dogs ,leaving them not eating or selling them, these people will never miss them if they go they dont respect them or their dogs that chase them enoug
  20. Dont know to be honest havent needed any more calls than whats on there, three of my mates have seen it working the three of them have gone out and bought one.
  21. Very informative as use-all Skycat Whenever I have a litter of pups I always worm them with Dronatal plus Tablets cut up accordingly from Three weeks,I use to find when using panacur many moons ago that the first time you could get the correct dosage into them, second time they would gag a fair bit out, especially strong german shepherd pups, dronatal is a lot easier,I have never had a problem since using it.
  22. I would Guarantee a puppies health backed up by a vet check I would never guarantee how it is going to turn out because the world is full of dick heads,You have only got to read some of the threads on here. i.e. Question Why does my dog yap when chasing a rabbit Question How old is he or she Four months Question Why does my lurcher Jack on foxes Question How old is he Nine Months Question Why does my dog kill sheep Question what training did you give him before you took him to a field of sheep Answer None didnt have the time thinking of selling him on now People re
  23. Interesting read I have a big bomb mincer all my food goes through it including scraps from the pub,now its gone cold put some gravy over it,The dogs never leave a scrap. I also put garlic in once a week not a great deal though,I also feed sardines in oil cheap enough from aldi.Main food is fresh meat and bone from the butchers probably makes up 60percent of their diet. The dog in question has it got Saluki in it I had a Saluki cross bitch once nightmare to keep weight on her, but absolute dynamite in the field.
  24. The worst part about that is if You read it,the guy has now been given a license even after ill treating dogs Is it just me or is the world gone nuts, shouldnt he or people like him been banned from keeping animals. Totally agree stop anyone other than the breeder from selling them direct disgrace selling a puppy like a box of chocolates :wallbash: :wallbash:
