  4. To be fair we are judging the trapper without knowing the full facts How often has he checked the trap How long really had the cat gone missing for really The trouble with these traps and a lot of other pest control products including posions and tack glue boards is they can be purchased by someone who has no pest control training or knowledge of the countryside, bet the trap did not even come with instuctions let alone the law relating to it

She caught a blackbird coming out of a hedge this morning, brought it to me I released it unharmed didnt think the b*****d ate all my strawberries last year ,the only problem I got with her she is coursing and catching my red patterdale pup who is about six months now not hurting her just coursing her and stopping her letting her go and then catching her again.thats my grandson in the picture trying to out run her.

  16. Will post some photos soon of mine, starting her will not be a problem holding her back will be,she is so easy to train as expected from this cross. What she has got is a keen nose, took her up the sheep shed the other day not bothered with the fiffty or so lambs I put her in with she went to he corner of the pen we had them in and marked a rat under one of the feeders,I know because I trapped it the next night.
  17. A good dog or a great one in my humble opinion is one that when in the field exels as such that anyone who is with you is amazed at his guts stamina and strike rate will catch alive and retrieve what you want to eat, with the exeption of deer, will kill what you dont. Will mark without error,Would guard you and loved ones to the death,Will give you many a great memory of him when he is gone,a practically impossible dog to replace, thinking of you scoob
  18. was asked by a local authority once to clear a huge rabbit problem of dunes and a big caravan park, doing the job I had three ferrets beddlington whippet cocker spaniel and a beddlington had caught over forty before lunch going passed a bit of cover when suddenly the beddlington which was probably the best killing dog I and many others have seen dived into the cover grabbed hold of what I thought was a stick was shaking this stick like a rag dropped it on the floor by me it was an adder dead as a doorpost, talking to an old boy when I sat down having a coffee he said his dog had been bitten by o
  19. I went to spectate at several fast and furious really good day out ,not one hare caught or harmed why they banned it is a mystery to me b*****ds the lot of them
  20. When I have the chance I will compete and Judge shows, the majority of times I go to shows it is to meet old mates and have a laugh winning a rossete is a bonus. I also have part in organising a show the Judges I pick would never down grade a marked terrier or scarred lurcher ?? why because they work dogs themselves. I personally believe the only thing that will ruin working dogs are the people who breed or work them, people who instead of seeing the dog working before buying go for the quick fix and buy from a show,or instead of breeding worker to worker, breed show champ to show champ
  21. When I all the pups went their different ways I gradually introduced my new bitch puppy to her new kennel, hour here and there then gradually upped it when she winned hose pipe along with bad dog stopped her in her tracks, because we are lambing getting up at five, let her out and take her with me up the lambing shed, trouble is now she is like a fking cockrell at five a clock lets go lambing how do you explain to her the next batch does not lamb for a fortnight :hmm:and I want a lie in
  22. Good luck all the best We will keep a welcome in the hillsides for you
  23. Well one jigsaw early learning is a lot easier, and if it goes tits up the dog wont to much damage, communication with the farmer is essential as he can see how responsible you are and again if anything went wrong as his advice he has probably broken loads.I have started taking mine to our lambing shed every night she is not that bothered, when a dog sees a sheep or lamb for the first time sometimes it frightens the shits out of both of them and the sheep if out in a field will turn and run dog will then naturally chase.Thats when your problems start.
