  2. Hi intrested to know anyone got the GB Sights add on and what telescopics you are using with them and how are you finding them
  3. Cracking thread Mark You must have read my mind this Morning we farm over a thousand acres in Mid Wales Badger down as its known, every morning I walk the four German Shepherds and my GSD X lurcher, they have fantastic prey drive and are always hunting and catching rabbits and squirells If I on my own land were to knock up a fox and the dogs kill it could I be done. I wont even mention the Badger senario as I know the outcome, having had several dealings with the Police in the last couple of Months, they are only intrested in easy prosecutions,if someones dogs done a Badger and it was witness
  4. Thanks for the photo SJ Fame for my dog at last
  5. Will be there Still drying out from last year Cracking show
  6. No mate, I didn't have a stall, I'd taken some gear down to drop off for lads that had ordered it before the show. I was parked by the Lurcher / Terrier ring (thank you TT! ) I'd text your mate but not heard from him? Is all ok? Did You come to the spring show in Builth Wells and are you coming to the Heart of Wales Game and Country Fair
  7. This the classic horses for courses We have 2500 sheep and 180 cattle and we use Beardie Collies and border collies border collies tend to have a lot of trial blood in them and they are exellent for trial type work i.e parting out fiffty from a flock our quickly fetching sheep in .The Beardie is a different kettle of fish Fearless tremendous hunting ability lot more bouncy than a border our will catch and hold lambs without marking them. We have had several that will hunt as good as a lurcher but it is a pain in the ass if you are rushing to get sheep in and your dog shoots of after a hare
  8. How old was the Dog out of intrest,it followed the lure as if it was glued to it
  9. Been to most would rate the Welsh one of the best but I am biased have not missed it for as long as I can remember, look forward to seeing good mates around the ring again
  10. Lets hope the weather holds on it is like Bermuda not Builth around here at the moment
  11. There will be an Event photographer at the Show as well

  13. Heart Of Wales Game and Country Fair 16th 17th August 2008 Penmaenau Farm Builth Wells Powys LD2 3RD
  14. What a cracking show the Lurchers were like the burgers QUALITY well done Jeff and all the other organisers thouroughly enjoyed the show.
  15. Bang on with your observation I have come accross this stuff to DIY baiting No good at all I was called out the place was sniving with rats, supose to bloat them up prevent them from eating
  16. Dont know how many of these have been sold in the uk I know of one locally ???? Cant see someone who has coughed up 2,ooo at least suddenly stop using them. Have said before in previous posts dont see the point in them
  17. You should have named this thread what do you need to have a good hunting trip ?? One of the most important things is a good reliable hunting partner,I have been really fortunate over the years to have known and hunted with many , nothing worse than someone messing you about or even worse going on to your permission and acting a c"""nt
  18. Everyone to their own I prefer a dog to do it all for me ,mine will hunt up and mark during the day,Lamp at night her recall at night is exellent. The photo is of my 54 kilo German Shepherd Steel marking a rabbit burrow Reguarding training I have never encouraged a dog to mark they have all always done it naturally, have never had a false mark yet, nothing worse than a dog false marking.
  19. Have had both Beddlington xWhippets and pure whippets Coursing bred top lines, and my opinion is that for what you want you cannot beat the Beddlington x Whippet well working bred of course. The Beddy Whip crosses I had would go through walls for a rabbit not afraid to tackle fox pre ban of course and take feather to good luck hopr you pick a good un
  20. try my best to get there, and abercynon show is on the same day tho init? No the Tynte Terrier & Lurcher show is on the 18th of April I believe
  21. Dont know about cheaper more like justifiable based on toilet hire waste removal staff costs so on and so on ,if they can be weighed up against each other then fine ????? however a lot of thought must be put in to the amount families can afford to pay.
  22. As one of the organisers of the Heart Of Wales Game and Country Fair I appreciate greatly a thread like this because of the knowledge we can gain from both traders and most importantly show goers. Our game fair was started because of the Hunting ban and our desire to help our local hunt promote themselves, have gone to game fairs for longer than I can remember I have tried to use what experiences I have had good and bad in designing ours. Such as ringside parking plenty of toilets good drinking facilities for dogs and people keeping prices to a realistic level. The entertainment must always
  23. 5FT will take a photo of a set thats on one of our farms top hole is almost 20ft above the entry holes, and yes they do use them all. Another sign is fields that look like they have had a herd of horses in them, were badgers have ripped up clodges in search of grub.
  24. Why not do obedience as well, go the whole hog,!!!!!!! To be honest it is getting someone to run it, if somebody was intrested and was prepared to do it properly ,We would very approachable,we are aiming to make our shows more hands on and working dog like. yea stag was a good dog,but i dont know much about the high jump i think its a pointless attitude for a dog to scramble over somthing,it wont be able to scramble over a barbed wire fence, mark I agree with the princple of high jumping,do not see the point in jumping and scrambling,as from what I can remember from old photos.
