Help needed I have just stripped the above air rifle re-blued it stripped the stock I if I say so my self it looks good, I rebuild it putting a new spring, top hat, new piston seal, the piston seal is leather which I soaked in neatsfoot oil, I put half a dozen pellets through it and was only getting 6 flb then it dropped to 3 flb any idea what could be causing the low power and is there anything that I could do to improve it, I thought about putting a new piston head with a o ring instead of the leather one ???

can anybody recommend qr mounts for the fx wildcat I have a picatinny adaptor fitted for the 008 but want to change to a day scope for the summer months, eaglevision do one but not sure if they will be low, the scope will be a 4.5 x14 x44 25mm tube, cheers

Well I gave my hmr a clean this morning the mod was caked up with carbon but the barrel was pretty clean that's it now for another 6 months

I don't think Kevgun has started to make the mounts yet for the 008 that's in place after he as finished the mounts for the drones, Drews lab sells the zb lites but I believe they raise the 008 even higher which is not good for eye relief .

Had my 17 hmr for 10 years and only clean the barrel a couple of times a year, when I get in from shooting on the cold winter months I put it in front of the log burner to dry it out then before I put it in the cabinet give it a wipe over with a oily rag, I keep thinking of buying a new one but it never lets me down so it will still be with until it does

Help needed to chrono a rifle
airbourne replied to Fellman Mark's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
So in theory you could have your rifle at say 11.3flb with your favourite all round pellet and change the pellet for some reason and be over the legal. There are a lot of diffrent pellets on the market varying in weight and how they are made -

That's more like it, what did the heavier pellets give you. The average on that 600.7 fps at 11.7 flb -

I should say that over distance then yes the heavey pellet does hold its energy but not at the barrel, and that why lighter pellets could put you over the 12lfb -

I am a 177 pellet man, have you cleaned the barrel the reason why I say is because the shot string itself is not bad it's only 7 flb spread -

airbourne replied to Fellman Mark's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
That's averaging out at 10.374 flb 563.5 fps with them pellet which is low, I would try some lighter pellets that should put you flb up with out going over the 12 flb limit. But saying that if they are hitting where you point and you are happy then that's fine. The Combro CB-625 mk4 tells you all you need to know takes any working out of the equation -

airbourne replied to Fellman Mark's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Try some lighter pellets mate it should bring that flb and the fps up, the first shot is ok on power but the rest are low, it's ok but I would sooner it be shooting at about 11.5 flb -

This might make you laugh walking the dogs this evening on the road and my dogs were being chased by a f**king cat I had to drag them up the street 300 yds I was knackered at the end of it, what would of happened if I loosed my dogs off, because I guarantee they would of killed it, this is the third time I have had a cat challenged my dogs have any of you chaps have this happen to them

I live on the edge of a town and there is a public footpath that runs right through the fields to the next village I used it regular for exercising the dogs and even had shooting permission, up until 3 years ago, until every man and is dog started using it even using it late at night to go to the village pup, now it's not safe to shoot over, and when I have been driving passed this last week there are even more people or should a say family's so what's the difference between them wandering around the field in droves and us on are own at night just because we might have to drive 5 mins to are p

I would like to go out shooting just to get away from all this sh** , it's like having a loaded gun pointed at your head waiting for som
