Little wonder my Father does not get involved or invite any publicticty he prefers just to hunt! .And after reading lies Bullshite etc: from the likes of Tesco "no doubt the first of many!" ,And I have never known him bad mouth anyone who did not start it .So like him I will distance myself from this or any post that is possibly only put out to cause problems, JB
  3. Hello sir I am gratfull for what you have said about my father and though I know whay you said is true, I Also know my father would prefer not to have the publicity he has been milined many times mainly by Pickaxe and Cooney etc: they even ensured he was sensationalised in the newspapers he would much prefer if you removed this post as it will only revive old bullshit and hatereds ,Sincerely Jon

  6. Hi Mud A dog will normaly wander around an area and cross back over within 24 hours of where it started from. "if it has not been picked up!" As even Fox Hounds do after hunting for miles when started from a Cattle Box ect: in the middle of nowhere.(They-"Dogs"-all retrace their footsteps when lost) Try you local police stations and ask if anyone ,even if not handed in has reported finding a black dog some folks would not know what a "Lurcher is" also phone the locals pounds, Vets, and dogs homes, even knock a few neighbours hope this helps and you get it back ok. best of Luck .Jonathan

  9. Mr Cooney you have many valid points .I must admit we ourself prefer to hunt natural earths especaily with seasoned terriers (as for Anti's Nothing pleases them! and as long as it humain who want's to try to!? Anyway The guy's in that part of Germany do have problem land and little or no fox earths prior to the false ones "needs must!" and I supose anyone can make them as deep and as complecated as they wish! But the guys told us if they set then less than one meter they seem to rarly hold . Dad tells me when Locators first came out many old timmers complained "just for the sake of it!" suc

  11. A great idea always best to see Terriers working for yourself (before concidering buying pups from them)rather than relying on hearsay Anyway as the olddies say one man's meat is another mans mustard and we all have different standards and ideas for what suits us best ,Jonathan
  12. In November my Dad and I went to deliver a couple of Patterdale Puppies to Germany and as we were also invited for the weekend and a bit of terrier work with Rudi Schwab and his friend's. Their ground is manly rocky and difficult for natural earths so they came up with the idea of artifitial earths and placed them in several dry area's buried aprox a meter deep they are fiberglass arches and a chamber with an entrance and exsit rejoining the entrance pipe they trench dig them in with a friends mini digger place galvanised mesh on the soil base and pin down the arches conecting them together f

  16. As I tried to say in your other post (An American needs Education Advice or Whatever) Why not go with tried and tested crosses as all other have been tried at sometime or other,"If not try it yourself!", and see (But I would sugest you keep it leagle) and do not brag about ileagle activerties and ask lads to comment as it obviously smacks of anti tree hugger and bad press enticement .in Sport Jonathan
  17. Most of the Gun dog breeds have an arkward Gaint for galoping and sharp twisting and turning, " fire of strike etc:!" they were bred to hunt at a certain pace for their type of Work over hundreds of years of breeding thousands of different crosses (proberbly all) have been tried including Husky gundogs Doberman's ETC: in England and Ireland etc: most hunting guys whittled down to the more sucessfull crosses as mostly used today mainly for different Purposes IE: (the type of terrain and quarry)Though their are exceptions to every rule Flat open Lands for the larger galoping types with turning
