So the MoD were charged £164 for screws worth £2.50 and £22 for a 64p lightbulb by MoD suppliers . WTF then must a round of standard .50 BMG (£4. FMJ civie rate) and 5.56/.223 (£0.50p civvie rate) ammo be costing us?? I reckon we should sack of the food parcels and get our school kids send the lads match grade ammo sourced through civie shooting shops - it would be better and probably 10x cheaper!!!!

Really good write-up that silentshot; I was out there with you, even felt myself slow the breathing as you described bringing the rifle up on bugs I've just bought a Prosport for exactly the reasons you describe. Filled my MKII huntsman up the other week to hear psssstttt and then silence. The valve stem has gone and I'm waiting for a replacement to get to the gunsmiths. Could have invested in another PCP but the thought of just taking your rifle from the cabinet, putting a handfull of pellets in your pouch and away you go was the answer for me!

Fellas, has anyone had a day-ticket from the Pigeon Shooting Club in Staffs. Was it value for money, did you get what is described on the site. Any other feedback. I'll nail my colours to the mast - it looks like a good day out hunting for those of us with a busy life and haven't got the time to dedicate and offer a pest control service in return for a permission. Folks I've built a quick reference chart for the number of clicks to adjust a 1/4 MOA scope at ranges 20-100yds and from .5" to 12". If anyone wants a copy then drop me a PM with an email address as it is an Excel file. I've managed to cut & paste it and save as a jpeg so you can see it. I print these out and laminate them, useful little QR Also attached is a wind adjustment in MOA - hopefully of use to someone.

Hi Lincsgun, I had an AT44 for about four months. Really nice rifle and quiet - it was like shooting a toy gun, I just got this "ting" and then watched woodie after woodie drop from the tree. It was sureal, just didn't feel like you'd released a shot. Then it happened ... cocking the biathlon lever, punching card - nothing special, I felt everything go limp and I had the cocking lever in my hand - six inches away from where it should be. The good thing about the the modern ghillie suits is (1) they are made from man-made fabric, don't rot (2) they will last a long time (3) they're lightweight. Can't really knock them - just use to making my own. That said I do like the Jack Pyke leaf-cammo suit.

Was at my local RFD's earlier, needed to stock up on my .22 H&N FTT. The girl handed me this bluey-grey tin and i said "no .22 please" (the .177 is in a blue & silver tin the .22 in a blue & green tin. She pointed out they are the .22 so I just thought they had changed their packaging. The other thing was I was sure I paid under £10 last time - these were £10.59. Anyway I got them home and on opening them found that they had a sheen & shine on them, picking them up I found them already lubed. As requested here's a photo I've got of the veil attached to the booney hat. Mines got a trim running around it that I tie the veil to. Any hat/cap will do just poke a couple of holes through the sides.

Fellas, thanks for the comments. Okay to build a veil youll need the following: A standard issue veil (£3) A bit of camo net about 2x3- scrounge it (I used a piece of leaf blind camo) An old hessian sack. Two rolls of Jute (garden) twine from any Wilkinsons - one small dark green 50m roll (99p) and one large 150m brown (£1.99). Dylon Tropical Green cold water dye. Dont worry that it looks too bright it wont (£2) Step 1 Unwind the large roll of Jute and make three (roughly) equal piles Cut the hessian into strips 12 long by about 2 wide then divide into the three piles Mi

I know full ghillie suits have become popular recently. Rather than make a full ghillie suit - I made a ghillie veil from a standard issue scrim veil. It attaches to my boony hat and drapes down to about my backside. Most of the time I'm shooting prone off a bipod but when kneeling it still breaks the shape up very effrectively. I used hesion (sandbag) off-cuts, jute-string (Wilko's own - 1 standard green - 1 standard brown and one roll dyed khaki). It's reasonably light-weight and I dont have to walk around like big-foot. As you can see it is superb when prone and kneeling and even effective

Evening folks, newbie on the board. Been shooting professionaly and as a hobby for about twenty five years. Shoot everything from air rifle, rimmies, shotties, U/L carbine & full bore (target) and so far I only hunt with non FAC airgun. Probably won't be a prolific poster (sure there's plenty of them already )there's plenty of reading ... but I have joined the board for a bit of craic and will join in!!
