  5. Cheers Andy, I'm not worried about the recoil as am used to centrefires. In fact I think its the recoil-less, numbness of the precharged stuff that I cannot get on with. Efficient, without a doubt. But souless
  6. Cheers guys for the feedback. some interesting options. Anyone tried these, sometimes used as whelping pads but can be used in kennel boxes. http://www.petnap.co.uk/acatalog/petnap.html
  7. Some of you guys are feeding a high protein complete food, and adding further protein. Not necessary, or always a good idea as dry and raw take different lengths of time to digest and process. Having said that, most dogs seem to cope reasonably well: canines are the ultimate adaptable animal, capable of assimilating and processing most types of food. Just look at all the scavenging dogs in the third world: you can bet their diet isn't 'appropriate to species' but they survive, though interesting to note that most bitches who survive by scavenging from village dumps seldom whelp more than
  8. I've had a HW35 for the last 30 odd years, and a HW100 for the last 3. both are in .22. Though the HW100 is a fine piece of kit, it doesn't light my fire. In fact although precharged air rifles are highly accurate and efficient, I have come to the conclusion that they are not for me. So I am thinking about getting a theoben evo, T/h in .177. Any thoughts on these guns welcome.

  11. I'm in the process of looking to rebuild a kennel block in a small barn. Its in an exposed site and gets ruddy cold over winter. I'm after ideas for heating the bedding boxes. There will be at least 16 boxes, so running cost is a serious issue. No gas on site so it would have to be electric powered. I've looked at aluminium heat pads that I can fit in the base of each box, but am not sure as to how effective they would be? Any suggestions welcome!

  18. They do make you sweat a bit! Don't wear a cotton shirt next to your skin. try using a wicking layer to get the sweat away from your body. The vents do help though. Mine stinks after nearly 2 years of wear, so make sure you wash it regularly. Its never leakedand is great in very cold weather. But my god does it absorb a lot of water. Don't think Id buy another unless i was doing more static activities
