  1. Had an a couple of uninvited visitors turn up last week. All the dogs were in the house, so the collie let 'em all out and the little cur lurcher ripped the arse out of one of them. His mate was on his toes, But one of the others was hanging off his leg as he tried to get over the gate. Don't think they will back too soon. Doubt they can walk properly for a while. Cheeky feckers
  2. I personally dont think that a .410 is insufficient. The CPS have stated in their guidelines to law enforcement officers that when looking for a prosecution against hare coursing, and if in that instance the alleged coursers have used the defense of flushing to the gun, then it is worth investigating the type of weapon and ammunition as to its suitability for the effective shooting of hares. If they were so minded they could push for causing suffering due to an unsuitable weapon/ammunition. They could also follow the line that saluki's/lurchers are unsuitable for flushing hares, as that is the
  3. by the letter of the law that is true. However, under animal welfare law, which they can and will apply as needed, a 410 would be classed as unsuitable weapon and you could be done for causeing undue suffering to a creature. 12 bore and minimum of 32g of No.5. Walked up hare are invariably running away, so you need to shoot/carry a gun and load that would be up to the task if need be. Although I'm not a shooting man ,,, and I stand to be corrected,,, but I wouldnt have thought there was a law saying you can't shoot a hare with a 410,,,, of course it's not the prefred weapon,,,but surly no law

  5. If you didn't think you could get done for it, why the feck were you running away?
  6. I am going through the exact same situation with my HW100. Keep comimg back to the prosport, but the cocking action takes some getting used to. good luck!
  7. If you have to ask, you will never understand !
  8. Just been gifted one of these, barely used, still on the 1st tin of pellets! It needs some work to get it going properly. Nyone know what they are worth and a decent gunsmith to work on it?
  9. If I come across another idiot describing fieldsports as bloodsports I will blow a fecking gasket! By using that terminology, they already show bias against what are/were once legitimate fieldsport activities! Take it further Paulus! Maybe a THL group action complaint?
  10. I must admit to being a HW fan. But in my latest quest to create a classic custom springer along the lines of some of the old venom stuff from the 'late '80's early '90's I looked at the HW 97 and 77. None of the new models seemed to have the quality of build that I always held high regard for. I know that I maybe intending to rip its guts out at some point, but such rough edges should not exsist in what was once such a quality product It is a shame that they seem to be chasing the £'s whilst forgetting the standards that they made their name upon. Unless I can find a sleeper of a HW77 a pros
  11. Cheers, for the honest feedback. The mention of Redbeck brings back old memories of the cafe across the way! I am down at the Shooting Show on saturday, you may see me wandering around with a long box !
  12. Anybody tuning Prosports? or is it that good already?

  15. My "ugly" dog came from Bradford. Go figure!?
  16. Little 'un get few second glances, if only they knew! He she is with the old lass (RIP). not the fastest dog by any stretch , but a handy dog to have around and took all that a dog of her size should do
  17. If what the performance/looks of previous litters matters that much to you, why the feck didn't you ask these questions before you got a pup off him. Now just go and enjoy your pup for what it is!
  18. Italian. Made somewhere in Bresica would be my guess. Rizzini is a strong possibility
  19. people have a right to own one, just like any other "tool" for hunting. With that right comes responsibilities. This is the act of an idiot, mainly for using a crossbow in such a public place but also for not dealing with the injured critter after the event. Everyone thought Fenton the lab in Richmond park was funny (which it is on the surface) but fact was the owner was a f##kwit for having an out of control dog in a public place where dear roam widely and freely. No harm was done that time, but as with the roe deer I had to deal with that had been chased by a boxer into stock fencing, then l
  20. I retired at 40 due to ill health. I was sick of working. Now busy training pot lickers
  21. True, but a safety catch is the last line of defence. Good gun handling and a brain is all that's needed
  22. Cheers bud, he is a nice dog to have around he place and does a good job. But looks don't mean owt when it comes down to the nitty gritty. Ask me again what I think of him in two years time
