  1. A mate put a good bitch down at the start of the season, it happened last season and he hoped the rest would of sorted it out, sadly it wasn't to be. Best of luck
  2. They can be warm and wet, cold and dry but not wet and cold, saying that I used to dig or bolt upto 70 a year (not season), I wouldn't touch that now. Whether that's through just getting old and lazy or just seeing the danger in being where I'm not wanted or needed or just the damage the rifle does is all up for debate. The way I used to look at it was I'd treat my area like spokes in a wheel, hit every earth in one area before changing areas the next day, sooner or later I'd cut down the possibilities because I'd been to enough or I'd left the stink of dogs on enough places, cutting down
  3. You were either very lucky Steve or you were fortunate enough to have enough game around that she didn't get bored checking empty places
  4. I said "once you've dug a terrier to a rabbit" big difference from a rabbit bolting from a random hole. I've kept working terriers for 39 years, if anyone's known for giving a terrier a chance I'd like to think it's me. I can guarantee that once you've dug a terrier to a rabbit it won't be the last time and I'd personally offer it to a mate or pts. The problem most lads have is they don't know wtf is going on and they're in a huge rush to dig, better to miss one fox through uncertainty and bolt it than ruin a terrier rushing the job
  5. NEVER dig any terrier unless you're 100% sure it's with it's game, once you've dug them to rabbit you might as well pts, it'll only get worse
  6. Deerhound x or ACD ? I must of missed those days and stories
  7. One of my favourite stop end pictures, took this picture in the semi light and had the huntsman confront me over tampering with the fox ! Asked me what I'd put on it only to be told "day light" and to wind his neck in
  8. You couldn't of outed yourself anymore, I'd say "nice try" but it wasn't was it
  9. Why use the emotive label "baited" , baited is a funny label to use when they were dug using terriers legally as it should be.
  10. Something I've ALWAYS got an eye on when breaking through, I hate to see a terrier take it's eye of the ball, something isn't quite right when they aren't 100% focused on the job
  11. The bride didn't like being alone most of the winter while I was away all day. I'm happy enough here, I'm king of my own hill lol. I made 160k in 10 months out of it, took the sting out of it a bit
  12. Still no address ? I'm moving house (yet again) next week, if you want it send an address mate or it's getting a viking burial this time.
  13. I knew if I hung on to it for 20 years it'd come in handy ?
  14. Red neck tools on Facebook, there's a link on their page to a number on WhatsApp
  15. Just had a look at the aerials around the house, the modern version come as a sealed unit, the old versions use be self assembly jobbies. The old self assembly ones come apart and you just need the back short piece for the two prong collar, they screw straight on.
  16. Not as hard as I thought, that's the two battery cap
  17. The old two prong mark 1 was just the back off a TV aerial fitting, any electrics place will sell them. If it's the longer cap that takes the two battery set up I think I've got one knocking about, moved house last year so may be hard to find it
  18. Plenty of steady working coloured terriers, sadly plenty more rough and tumble, same with any terrier, you can only piss with the dick you've got
  19. Show stuff is all that's available in the UK............anyone's welcome to prove me wrong
  20. If it's for work I wouldn't waste your time or money
