    I culled badgers over here in the republic of Ireland for 7 years for the dept of agriculture under permit. We use live catch snares set on runs, which caught then round the waist. The snares had stoppers on, to stop the badger dying. To be able to do it, i had to have a firearms cert for a .22lr rifle. The badgers when captured in the snares, were shot in the brain, instant death. Over here, 30% of the badgers, carried tb. It sounds like the folk who are culling them over their in the uk, are going to have a tough time of it, crazy!!

    In my opinion, the uk open coursing that was going on before the ban, was a lot better, as their hares were on their own ground and showed a better test. The irish coursing is about which greyhound gets to the hare first and that's it, they also have to where muzzles. The hares are caught and kept in pens, then released in front of the greyhounds, not my cup of tea! In the uk, before the ban, the hare were not caught and kept in pens.     Smashing pics them. The cuckoo, is in decline apparently, i hear less and less each year over here in Ireland, shame, very interesting birds and nice to hear early in the morning out with dogs.

    Hope i got the names right in the title. Just wondering, who bred these first x saluki greyhounds? They were meant to be very good? Any info on them, did anyone see them run ect? What was the full saluki that was used to breed them? Any other first crosses in Ireland that were good? Cheers.

    They are a good bit of kit, however, i do think they are over priced! Their is no competition you see, Deben are the only ones, so they can charge what they want and know folks will buy it.

Personally, i don't have a problem bringing on pups, with the odd one here and their, once a month or so, on your own ground, but to go out in a gang of 7, with 2 dogs each, is a Joke this time of year!! Is it any wonder, that this game is getting fecked???

    Well, was talking to Banner man on here last night. He mentioned to me that recently, he found out, about some well known coursing men, out in a gang of 7, with 2 dogs each, running big ears on his permission!! What the feck are these men at??? Its only August ffs! Their is a season for long ears, its from the 28th of September, till the 28th of February. Its bad form i think, to hunt summer long ears, as their will be very little left for the season and winter to run then!
