try mike brown lad i met last week has a whippet off him sound working, caught all the rabbits it ran on the lamp that night had 8. he said it has a go at fox too but he has to get their quick to help it.

i got him from a lad in wicklow when he was a pup. he is 2 1/2 years old old and doing well. thanks. good luck with him. does the lad that bred him have anymore?

seen a few work, their a great cross if their the right strain. supersam some grand pics their where did you get your irish terrier cross from? his a top looking and working hound.

I did this a few years ago and the pup i rared broke its neck chasing a fox. It tripped and rolled over. Greyhounds are just too fast for their own good. Only one i seen that was any good, took a lot of rabbits on the lamp and had a very good turn of speed, but was fecked after 10 rabbits and would sometimes collapse! Grand dogs to cross with a collie mind and if the right one is used, a better dog is produced for the rough irish country. My father races greyhounds, that's how i got to have a pup for hunting, she was too small to race.

cheers for all your answers. I have since heard he has some very good working whippets. I will be contacting him. I think too many people seem to run him down for no need, only thing i can think of, is the green eyed monster. As he seems very sucsessfull in breeding good strong working whippets.

Hows it going. Sorry, have joined a while now, just posting now. I was thinking of getting a whippet soon. I heard a lot of good things about mike brown bred whippets. Been reading a few topics on here about them. For all the people who have them, what are they like? Do they make good lampers, will they be hardy enough? Can i see some pics of all your mike brown bred whippets please as well. Cheers. John.

Joined their a while back. I have a lurcher of mixed breeding. Do a bit of lamping and bushing. Looking to get a whippet soon. Thanks. John.
