  2. Plenty over here in ireland, raw and very fresh, if you know where to look. good feed for dogs, especially when mixed with gain 28. i would not give just tripe though, would add rabbit, beef ect to it, or gain 28.
  3. some very decent dog lads their, cracking day out, well worth the 5 euro.. will go again next year.
  4. got some recharge. just a warning got told by some decent coursing lads that liquid life aid (stuff for sheep and cattle) is very bad for lurchers can kill them eventually apparently.
  5. was at greyhound track last monday night. lad their was racing his dog and gave it a drink that looked yellow i asked him what it was and he said electrolytes told me they stop dog getting dehydrated. he said mix it with water. it was the stuff that farmers use lactade. meant to be good for them. does anyone use it? any need? my lurcher can get thirsty after a nights lamping at times in the autumn might use it?
  6. is this a piss take? this is a hunting site, not a pet dog breeding site
  7. fecking fur ball with razor blades!
  8. his meant to be a mighty man and been around for years sounds a interesting character. does he get good reports back from lads buying his dogs?
  9. sorry lad but don't get what ya saying?
  10. sounded like a mighty bitch that sorry that it was stolen from you.
  11. Never coursed the fens my self, don't know much about it. Just wondering, how many seasons, does a fen dog/bitch last, coursing every week? Do they eventually jack, or, does the handler, know when its time for them to retire? From reading about fen coursing dogs on here, it sounds like its very hard on the dogs, in the winter months, when hares are at at their best? Not many id say, would keep this up, well, from reading about it and seeing it on dvd's ect. Cheers all and keep it friendly, just a bit of chat to pass the summer months.
  12. Hows it going, just wondering, is it ok to feed lamb neck bones to lurchers? Would it crack their teeth? fed knuckle beef bone in the passed and it cracked a lurchers teeth. Its most of the neck spine of the lamb. Got a few offered to me recently. thanks.
  13. well, some interesting answers, thanks.
  14. have a brother over in essex. he said, in january and febuary, you would be lucky to get closer then 200yds to a fen hare, as they are up and off and very strong? is this true? he said some look easy in the distance even with dog running to them, not moving, but as soon as they half way their, they are gone like a rocket? watched some of them dvds in the uk and the lads were walking up to some of them, would they be early hares?
  15. nobody can say all saluki,s or all line bred saluki crosses have good feet .but yes a high percentage will have ..but you stil have to take care off them like any other breed...my dogs feet get bruised like any other would running on rough ground.. so will the dogs in the far east....wash them and take of them everytime you have been out ...if my dog has had an hard day..and his feet have took a battering we wash them at a farm or keepers house or where ever we can with a hose pipe .,..then on the way home near where i live me and another lad of here stand the dogs in a river near us for 20 m
  16. Best place to be this time of year. grand saplings their, good luck with them.
  17. just talking general exercise, not hunting!
  18. Finding it hard to give the dogs a run these mornings, what with the ground here being rock hard every where! No decent rain for a while now. Whats it like with all of you? Just road walking mine early in the morning before the heat gets up!
  19. snoopdog, great pic that thanks for posting. i hear saluki hybrids have very good feet, if come from the right breeding, parents and grand parents ect.? i see their on them you-tube clips of salukis in deserts running on some rough ground, some with stones and id say its hard ground too in a lot of them places, so their feet would have to be good?
  20. thats the way to be Im affraid, A bad or retierd dog takes as much room and food as a good one, if you look on them as a pet thats diffrent all together. I understand what your saying But if this animal in question has put its back out, gave all it had Everytime you were out then it deserves to be with you until its not anymore in my opinion it deserves a good home, but you dont have to keep it yourself.I will do my upmost to re home a trier Good posts.
  21. Rabbits will do well in pups that are 4 month old, if they are not use to them, introduce them gradually. if they are minced well as well, its easier for them to digest. I also give pups this below, Gain puppy and sapling, soaked in goats milk, its deadly stuff.. http://www.gainfeeds.com/greyhound/puppy
