  1. heres the story i have just bought a baikal 12g auto 31/2 inch for little more than a song it was very cheap and in great condition one of the only things i can see is that the foerend is split on the end where it meets the barrel it isnt bad and looks like it has been glued just wondered if this would cause a problem with heavy loads the only other thing i noticed is there is two marks in the bore at first i thought it was pitting but the are symetrical and perfectly square to where the barrel has the tube mounted to it to slide over action sorry for the terrible description but i am fairly
  2. hi all i am looking for a 308 open to options i have 500 quidish to spend if anyone has anything or no s of anything pm me cheers
  3. hi folks cheers for the advice i have put in a variation for 308 hopefully i should have it granted
  4. hi all i am in two minds of which calibre to variate for between 308 and 708 i understand the 708 is a necked down 308 case but i have also been told the 708 will out shoot the 308 but that the ammo is hard to come by for the 708 i hand load my ammo and thats what i would be doing with which ever calibre i choose does anyone have a better idea of the pros and cons of both rounds i want to use the round for stags big game ect any info would be great cheers
  5. hi all i went shootng yesterday evening to try and stalk a buck on one of my perisssions me and a mate set out we got there just before dusk and as soon as we pulled up there was a roebuck grazing on the edge of the field maybe yards away i slipped out of the jeep to take aim off a near by fence post as the buck was in a dip so a prone shot was out of the question the cross hair was alligned with the boiler room and a quick trigger pull later the buck droped sraight to the floor on a closer inspection the buck looked in perfect condition i will try and upload some picks later
  6. hi all yesterday i mentioned to a freind i was thinking of putting a wood stock back on my tikka 595 22.250 as it did have an all weather stock on with blued action which at first i did like until i bought my t3 super varmint in 243 the stainless synthetic looked great where as the blued synthetic 22.250 no longer looked as good anyway my freind said he had a wooden stock he would swap hed picked it up years ago and didnt need it its the deluxe model piller bedded as well fits like a glove and looks the shizz like he said these stocks are quite rare just wondering if this is correct cheers
  7. hi i have recently been given a honda big red from a freind but the front brake drum/hubs are missing and i cant find any anywhere i dont know the age of the bike but i know its 2 wheel drive please pm me if you can help cheers
  8. cheers for that its a model 2 what i am not sure about is the bolt from my research is the same as the deluxe model as it is hollow on the end did they do a deluxe in mod2
  9. hi all i have just accuired through a freind a cz brno 22lr with edgarbrothers scope shortened barrel with sak mod a walnut stock with the standard and a ten shot mag for 100 pound i thort it was a bargain does anyone have any any info on these rifles are they any good and can you get the trigger kit for this model cheers
  10. i had to wait four weeks for my ticket to come back from carlton hall when i put in a varaition for 243 i already had 22lr 22cf with mods when i called to see what was going on they said they thought i had my cert back then they rang back and said mr hewit had it and needed to do a land check which i new for a fact had been done three weeks previous as the farmer told me he was there also the land had already been checked for my 22.250 2 years previous its a two thousand acre farm and in my eyes there isnt the biggest difference between 243 and 22.250 i know theres a difference but 4 weeks com
  11. hi all i am in two inds about changing the thread size on my t3 super varmint at the min its 1/18 as standard but a good freind of mine says i should get a 1/2 inch thread cut on it reason being my other rifles are 1/2 inch and it would mean i wouldnt have an odd sized mod any suggestions the only put off is its a brand spanker and dont know if to get it done
  12. try a bit off black tape on back of mod pal it stops the glare of torch its also a cost effective way of solving it just hope it works bud thats if it is the mod glaring but thats what it sounds like to me
  13. when ever i zero i do it at twenty five yards at a hundred you will be about inch an 3/4 s high which i use just a cheap pair of bushnell binos to check 40pound if that off flea bay i find that just as easy thats with my 22.250 buts thats how i do all my rifle s its hard enough to see your bullet hole at a hundred but thats just my way mate
