Hi all, Out ferreting yesterday and my sandy jill went to ground and didnt come out. She was wearing a locator collar but i couldnt get a mark on her anywhere. Ferreting box left out for her if she reapeares. This was in Middleton, near King's Lynn. If anyone hears anything let me know please, it wasnt more than 100 yards from houses so she may have wandered off during the night. thanks Mat

Shame i've got no room left in the freezer or i'd have had them all off you, do not think mum would be too impressed if i chucked her food out of the freezer to fill it up with dead rabbits

Mine are on ferret food ( biscuit stuff ) and whatever meat i can get my hands on, they usually get biscuit in the morning and meat in the evening.

Hi all, Im thinking about adding a German wirehaired pointer to the kennels. I'd be using it for retrieving, flushing from cover and marking when out ferreting. Whats everyones opinion on them? From what i've read there a nice alround dog. atb mat

I'd love these please, im 16 and just started out with my ferrets, only got 2 nets i made. atm mat -
I attatched an old ice cream tub ( one of them short ones expenwsive ice cream comes in ) to the wire of my cage so they cant knock it over, easier to fill that up and just pull the ice out and refill every day.

Cheers everyone. Is there any difference in usefulness between the ones from sheet netting and spun poly/nylon or is it just preference? I shall be looking to order some in the next few days. Cheers mat

Keeping the ferrets warm through the winter...
Big Mat replied to royal marine's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Just checked on mine, seen as its warmed up here they've dragged 2 of the blankets out of their nest box and are tucked up in just the coat. Still nice and warm in the box though, they deffinatly know how warm they want to be
