  2. Alrite mate, you can fit anklets and jesses to your bird when she is just about starting to fly but dont tether your bird untill all feathers are hard down.I would just fit thin straps to anklets first to give you something to hold onto.atb

  9. Alrite guys, I have a webley raider 10 and carnt fault it,its very accurate and with the shrouded barrel and silencer its super quiet. How can you tell the difference between the turkish and brummy made guns?
  10. Alrite david mc, I mainly only fish for pike but have done abit of chub fishing on the tees and had them to around 3 lb.I mainly fish the lower tees around yarm and thornaby but have had a few sessions up river, what size chub have you had?.Im thinking of targeting barbel this summer as ive never caught one and have heard theres some decent ones in the tees. atb
  11. Hi lads, I do alot of fishing on the tees and there are some good fish to be had my biggest is 24LB and my mate has had a 28lb,but it can be hard work and you have to put the hours in will try and put pics up soon. I would be intrested to hear from anyone else fishing the tees and what you been catching ? atb
  12. Hi royboy, I have never owned one myself but a friend of mine had one a few years back and as i remember it was spot on,extreamly accurate and i think one of the best guns logun made, but i suppose it depends on how much your gona pay for it,how much does he want for it? if you dont mind me asking.
  13. Hi david901, yes i agree a bow perch is better for offering your bird a bath and i do like to offer my birds the chance, i move them to a bow for short periods usually in the morning and especially in the heat of the summer months thats why i say to use a raptor post as much as possible and not only.If your german gos thrashes at the slightest disturbance while free lofted i would imagine he does the same while tetherd creating more chance of feather damage, it is for this reason i use a raptor post.atb

Hi mate, I would go for one of the H.P.R breeds there more suited to falconry h.p.r stands for hunt, point, retrieve just incase you didnt know, there also good for shooting(true alrounders).springers are good flushing dogs but you carnt beat a good solid point,it gives you the chance to set your self up for a controlled flush.A good example is the smooth or wirehaired hungarian visla.atb
  15. I would try free lofting him and see how it goes mate its defo the better option, but if you decide to tether him through the moult i would try and use a raptor post as much as pos rather than bowperch only, to keep him in better feather ,this would mean handling the bird so there is goin to be some stress either way.atb
  16. Hi harris will, Thanks for info mate,I think i mite go for the easy option and convert a prebuilt building/shed rather than starting from scratch lol and i totally agree mate any animal does deserves good accomodation.atb
  17. Hi harris will, Im also goin to build a new weathering soon and i would just like to say that yours looks spot on,it looks very well built and thought out,i might go for somthing similar only a bit smaller. Did you build it yourself ? and what did it cost you roughly ?
  18. I would have went for the head shot myself
  19. Alrite millsy always enjoy reading your posts pal, good shooting keep up the good work.atb
  20. I agree with jonnygray, you can fly/hunt a harris at weekends if you can devote a little time each day to fitness.I have known people who only fly there birds at weekends and do quite well.I personly like to fly my birds as often as possible 4/5 times a week and more to get the best out of them,a bird flown this way will totally out class a weekenders bird but it can be done.atb
  21. if its a complete dry food you want burgess supadog worker is quite good.I use this during the season it has 24% protein and when dogs no working i use burgess supadog adult which has less protein at 18%.I also give fresh rabbit/pheasant etc
  22. just use a treat mate, give the dog the recall command and when she comes near show her the treat then why she is focused on it touch or stroke her and give her the treat then let her go off again.do this for awhile and she will soon associate the command with a tasty reward.once she is comming well for treat call her and miss the treat out every other time and instead give her a little stroke and praise.you can soon forget the treat altogether but she will still come just in case and she is still being rewarded by praise. hope it goes well mate
  23. you could change the dogs name or the command its up to you, but i would defo change one or the other to minimise confusing your dog
  24. Hi pal,use a slip lead to walk your dog and when it pulls the lead will go tight creating alot of pressure around the dogs neck, then pull her back while giving the heal command and at the same time(when shes at heal and not pulling) allow the lead to loosen easing the pressure.the dog will soon realise that it is much more comfortble walking by your side at heal on a slack lead rather than chockin its self and dont forget to praise. good luck with the training
