Would there be any benefit in buying or dog or are bitches more sound , just that when it comes lurchers i have always found bitches to be easier to work with ? iv only ever had the pleasure to work a bitch and was eager to please she gave her all on every dig just make sure ya get to see both parents of whatever breed ya go for thats a defo have done the same wi me lurcher cheers

  7. if uv been diggin the past few years im very suprised only gettin ur own terrier now, plus if uv been diggin with ur mate have their terriers not made an impression on u that u cud say id like 1 of them.. Ive a kept a few different breeds of working terrier but my heart stopped on the patterdale, if got 1 from the right breedin i think theres no better but this is just MY preferance, others will certainly have theirs... ..... As a fan of working terriers and seen plenty of digging over the past few years ,I am considering buying my first terrier and was looking for a bit of sensible advice from some people who know more than me ? i ahve been told about a variety of different breeds supposedly being the best type to use but the one that pops up more often than not is the patterdale terrier as apparently they will just start going to ground vertually on there own and start working at around eight/ nine month old which is supposed to make them easier to work with for the novice terrier man , as appose to the likes of
  10. been out for some sport today with the ferrets and they done me and squad proud 21 in the bag and the whippet crosses ran extra well to, all in all a very satisfying day out in the sunshine !!

  12. if you cant use the back of your hand whip a squeaker out of the next squeaky dog toy you find thats been busted they work canny good

  14. do loads of road work with a choker chain round its neck mate it takes some patience but it will work eventually took me 6 months with one of mine its boring but worth it
  15. i bred a beddy bitch non worker to a champion racer dog and have had no trouble with the bitch i kept which is now four and a half years old the other three pups are just the same they will run anything , granted the bitches are tend to struggle a little on faster stuff but they get there in end ( please bare in mind that they are only 18" but the dog of the litter is 20" and he takes it in his stride. Never have i seen such a game temprament in such a breed of dog they are like bull crosses when hunting together and they never give up day or night, tuff as old boots you might say !!! i am pu

  19. bolloks, you never pissed a rabbit before hanging it of course its thirsty work lampin three hours haulin them about but theres always some u cant squeeze out ! theres always a dribble left in the lucozade before it goes in the bin

  21. cheapest option is when your out there is always bailing twine laid around put it use !!! find a two or three foot length tie the ends together and bobs your uncle a rabbit carrier ,, make cut in one of the back legs put string between legs and put other leg through the cut you made, it is now on carrier and sling it over your shoulder ,!!!!!!!!!! it saves you money on expensive gear that you will lose or wont last long and you are doing your bit for mother nature by tyding the countrysideup a bit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :victory:
  22. they will all be good dogs in the correct hands but you cant go wrong with a beddy greyhound (beddy dog over greyhound bitch) they are the buisness
