    if catching chinkys or is it muntys that can cut yer dog up,.. is it best to break em in on roe or fallow to minimise damage from more agressive quarry or does it not make any odds, cheers

    I always start off with the best intentions, but when you've got afew rabbits and and stuff and yer getting abit knackered and the winds blowing like hell I dont give a bugger if its behind me or not, i think its more important when its a light wind etc, I was up wind of squatters when it waqs blowing last week and it made no difference and getting a yard from em , you could'nt of done that on a fairly still night down wind of em

    is that for the half cross, three quarter? what % of collie in alurcher make up are you talking about? You need alot of collie in a lurcher for it to show collie attributes and if you water it down to much there's no point in having collie in a lurcher make up

    minion i am a new member aswell, i have a collie x i wouldnt class her as a out and out coursing dog but on the way back from ferreting if a hare or two get up she holds her own and catches a few <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know what you mean about coursing and hare[catching] I work collie x and the've caught hares well but I dont live on the fens aand as for lacking in lung capacity and stamina, well thats bollox mate

    is the larson trap the 1 with the maggie in it to draw em in or no?we've used them with good sucsess in the spring,borrowed off a local famer who used all the captives to spend a life calling in their 'friends'in more traps

    I just picked up some permission on a golfcourse and had a quick lamp last night. There were lots of rabbits & i mean lots aand they were in small groups feeding way out in the fairways,but they are b*****ds to catch on the short greasy turf,my dog loses a lot more ground on turns due to theres not much to grip on,so my bitch has to change tactics if we are to reduce the nos there. So like folk say it all depends where you hunt an the size of the catch,i think we caught a 3rd of what we ran but my bitch is just back from injury so shes unfit and theres room for improvement
