  1. all the best with it mate. i absolutely love my falcon, and it'll perform better than my shooting ability for a long time yet. you should check out this place, another set of top people that know their stuff. http://falconowners.myfastforum.org/index.php
  2. very, very nice. can't wait till i get my hands on some plasti-dip! out of interest, how much did that little lot cost, and what else could you possibly want doing to it?
  3. if it won't cock all the way back at all, it may be that your trigger is set too light. have a look at the manual about adjusting the weight of pull on your trigger and see if that helps. thats about all i can suggest though mate, sorry. i have heard that air arms after service is very good though so maybe if your guns relatively new and still having problems they might swap it for a new un. all the best with it anyway.
  4. i'v read some reviews on a site called the review centre. some good, some bad. check it out. http://www.reviewcen...g=webley+raider and then check out a load of other stuff you'd like to know about! honestly, it gets addictive.
  5. aah, shooting. i almost forgot what this forum was for. cheers for the link, this was something i've also been wondering about recently. i've also been wondering how to practice such angled shots without having to try and climb trees to stick targets up in my walking boots?
  6. jesus! thats yours? I saw a photo of that ultra recently and by jingo it looks a right fng piece of kit! hats off to whoever was involved in the crafting of that rifle, its probably the best modified rifle iv'e ever seen. the rats'll sh***ing themselves round your way. yeah mate, id love to see the pictures of it coming to fruition. can i ask how much the whole job cost?

  8. top advice as per usual from si there. i'm constantly trying to get better at standing shots using the technique he's just mentioned above and slowly getting there. its also easy to under-estimate how much the 2 seconds or so follow through helps you keep calm and steady throughout your shot as well. the main reason i want a springer again is to keep skills/techniques like these sharpened. good luck with your shooting mate, you'll find no end of good advice from the guys'on here
  9. iv'e often considered getting a bipod for the obvious benefits to stability, but never shoot in a prone position as i'm only shooting roosting pigeons and squirrels at the moment. am i right in thinking that getting a bipod would be pointless unless i have to shoot rabbits from a prone position?
  10. its now become second nature for me to get into a stable kneeling position whenever i get a target, not only because i'm steadier but also because it makes my sillouhette smaller and harder to see against any background foliage. If i have to stand, i'll try to get my leading hand on a tree or branch or something and rest the rifle on my wrist.
  11. my old bushnell sportsman once took the full force of my TX200 falling over and landing scope first on the floor! the zero got knocked out a bit but it functioned perfectly once i'd sorted it out!
  12. it all comes down to the big 3 i think. the air arms, the bisleys, and the accupells (which i use). the new falcon pellets seem to be suiting a lot of barrels recently also. if you could get your mitts on a handful of these few pellet brands i'm sure you'd find a winner in there somewhere. i've found that not being afraid to scrounge a bit in your local RFD will pay dividends, the guy in the gunshop i use was more than happy to sort me out a handful of bisley magnums and AA fields to try out in my rifle.
  13. hmmm, my leapers did this when they were new and i was bricking it as i'd sold my bushnells to buy them, not massively but they were out by an inch or so but they gradually settled down and the amount of tinkering i had to do got less and less and now they seem to have settled to be bang on. i had heard rapid changes in temperature can effect all kinds of stuff though, like the tuning of my guitar when i put the heating on, for instance. if you're going from a nicely centrally heated house to a cold, wintery outside, that might have an effect. but i would also suggest that if your zero is waay
  14. good little scopes these for the money.
  15. have a look through these pal! http://ginb.it/prodotti_list.php?&lang=en
  16. eyup mate, and welcom to the forum. i think pellpax do mixed selection of pellets so you can try a load through your rifle without spending tons on entire tins of pellets.
  17. welcome pal. you'll always find some advocates of the springers on ere as well! i've even started coming round myself!
  18. i have the feeling you can. plastidip have their own website so you can check out the stuff for yourself. i think you can even get the rubberised grippy stuff in greens and browns if you wanna camo-plasti-dip your stuff
  19. if the rifles full power it'll take whatever legal quarry. i just dont think a normal torch'll do the job, you'll need summat a bit more substantial.
  20. what rifle is it?, and no, i dont think a torch is strong enough to lamp with, unless you have super-eyes.
  21. eyup mate, im a rotherham expat and shooter, from maltby originally.
  22. funny thing this, after i waited for what seemed like forever for my leapers, i found some flimsy mickey mouse mounts in the box with them but they were too wide for my scope rail. I fully expected the scope not to fit in the old mounts that were still on on my gun but they went straight in! with about 4-5mm clearance from the barrell too?
  23. on my first rifle i had a simple richter optic 3-9x40 mil-dot that were only 50 quid brand new, then a mate of mine got one for his springer that he'd stuck an extra inch of spring in and it handled the extra recoil from that fine, a good little scope, i think. edited to say "what he^ said" iv'e got a leapers on my rifle at the mo, it came from china off ebay for about 55 quid with parallax adjust, illuminated red and green reticle and lockable and resettable turrets. i've not long since got it bang on zeroed after fannying about having my gun back to shop for servicing and im very satisfi
