  1. i use crosman premiers in my falcon and they're hard as nails. i've never had a deformed one yet.
  2. eyup chaps, i've come across someone selling this relum tornado with some 4-16x50's on it and was wondering if they're worth having, and how much i should offer the guy as i've not had any experience with these rifles whatsoever. cheers in advance for any help. darren.
  3. eyup mate. you dont need a licence for a rifle thats under 12 ft/lbs and a rifle of this power is more than capable of cleanly killing most, if not all forms of legal u.k quarry. i think theres a section somewhere on this site entitled "General Licences" or some such, and that'll have all the info you need on legal quarry etc. atb. darren.
  4. ha! too broke im afraid, and im in the process of saving for a new HW95 and i reckon thats gonna set me back 300 nicker that i just dont have lying around. good luck with the sale anyhow.
  5. i really want this rifle but im broke
  6. iv'e been down both routes and still remain unbiased either way. i didn't really care much about my first spring rifle due to inexperience, hated my second one and got rid for the pre-charge. still enjoyed shooting a couple of mates' webley stingray, SMK19 and HW90 so im gonna start saving for a HW95K just to have the best of both worlds and keep techniques honed.
  7. I used to go out nicking peoples milk when i were a kid, one day the milkman caught me, gave me a belting and guess what, i stopped doing it. in fact, most of my valuable life lessons have been learned from a slap. or two. nowadays if i caught a criminal in the act i would always assume he is armed (not like when i were a kid) and act accordingly.
  8. oh, i wish i had the money for ANY of those rifles!! im all on getting a few quid in the kitty for a HW95k
  9. i feel your pain man. better luck next time.
  10. iv'e been waiting for someone in the U.K. to start doing this. i've e-mailed a couple of the american sellers of one of these kits but got no reply. thanks a lot for the heads up.
  11. S410k superlight for me, cos its light and i am weak and i found it a bit comfier to shoulder that the HW100 when i held them both in the shop. i wouldn't have an ultra due to the fact i know that id instantly be wanting to fork out some more to have it reg'd, tuned and all that jazz. iv'e recently seen a walnut thumbhole S410K for sale and by jingo do they look sexier than a HW100!
  12. blah blah blah shooting, blah blah blah sunshine, blah blah blah rabbits. lucky for some mate
  13. my mates got a few of those, but iv'e never used any. if you ask me they look a bit gimmicky. people have been using the tried and tested pellet varieties to great effect for years, i can't see what advantages the pointy red bit would possibly give? as Bud said though, i'd be interested in finding out if anyone has had any success with them.
  14. as soon as i woke up today i wanted to get out shooting, 1. to practice ranges further than my zero, 2. have a look for some rabbits. and 3. test out my new hip flask full of rum. I made the sacrifice to help our lass to the hospital cos of her "bad" back only for her to decide its "too nice" to sit in a hospital all day. ran into two of her mates in town, one with a new baby, as a result of which i'd gone from wanting to get out with the rifle on such a beautiful day to listening to the missus and her two mates prattling on and cooing about babies as i stared into space like a spare part. as
  15. out of interest, what was up with it mate? my mates just flogged his ultra with hawke tac 30 scopes on to buy one of these and i reckon he's made a grave mistake!
  16. welcome to the pre-charge darkside mole giz first dibs when the stingray goes up for sale
  17. thanks a lot for that Si. i'll also copy and keep the above info as my memory's cack for remembering numbers. i can see me ending up with bits of scrawled-on paper taped all over my rifle for a bit
  18. nice vid mate & nice shooting just a quick question, how do you go about judging the distance to quarry to know how much holdover to use, is there a technique or is it just down to experience?
  19. that webley looks like a right purchase! i wish i had some of these guys on side when a bought my first rifle. gotta get in a mention of my mates old SMK19 that cost him 100 quid, he put some 50 quid richter optik scopes on it and he was devastating with it, i really liked it, and for 150 quid you can't go wrong. i'd personally be looking at the weihrauch and webley ranges if i had to buy a springer again.
  20. i read somewhere that killing the females whilst pregnant (the rabbit, not you!) is preferred as that way the entire litter dies humanely instead of having to try and survive alone with only one or no parents. i suppose this method of pest control would save you some lead in the long run also
  21. eyup chaps, iv'e recently changed the battery in my IR only to realise its knackered. has anyone any experience in fixing an IR or am i better off spending my birthday (which is today by the way!) money on a new scope? cheers in advance. darren.
  22. jeez! this got some interest didn't it. i could just see a load of shooters all over the country all checking their wallets/blagging the missis etc.and typing PM's like lightning (no pun intended!) i wish i had the cash for it.
