I was in a game dealers near newcastle yesterday and saw a cock pheasant still in the feather for £5!!! I know they’ve gotta turn a profit the same as everybody else but I happen to know that they’re only paying 12p per brace at the moment, surely if the game dealers dropped their prices the demand for game would rise? giving shoots a better price and giving the end consumer a lower one. overall the price of game, especially wild game like rabbit is shocking especially because it’s free!

Is it just my area or is there a huge lack of knowledge and understanding about shooting everywhere? Im sick of being asked what im up to at the weekend and replying "im going shooting" then hearing "what, with a REAL gun?" or "what sort of air rifle you got like?", "shooting?... no your not?" and one of my personal favorites "Shotguns were banned years ago, so what you really doing?" It frustrates me beyond belief when people are either too arrogant to accept that shooting and firearms are fairly common, or just think your a bare faced liar because its only farmers or 'toffs' that shoot!
