ANTI TERRIERWORK WEBSITES - THINK BEFORE YOU POST !!!!
TEXICAN replied to Barrie's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Thats right the internet & loose lip people is what dealt the biggest blow to the bulldog world. If you give them an inch they will surely take a mile! -
Jeremy Im not catching what your talking about did I miss something somewhere? As far as D peddling a dog he sent him to me for no money at all, just the promise that I do right by the dog. Im not sure what kind of beef may be between yourself, D, & JS, but I will say this, D has been one of the only guys besides the Barnburner boys who has accepted me without any back stabbing & have offered me on numerous occasions dogs at no cost at all. So with that said D & BB boys & Speck as much as some guys might not like them they thus far have taught me & helped me besides pretend

The armadillo shell is not that hard its actually flesh thats a little tougher. Maybe about as tough as a pineapples skin. The tail is a bit tougher since it is mostly bone covered with a harder scaley type skin. I have not personaly had my dog damage his teeth on one I dont see it being an issue a dogs teeth should be plenty strong to handle an armadillo shell. Its the bone to bone contact that will bust teeth.
-
So what did the cop have to say, how did he take it?
-
They can move some dirt plus their shell is hard and round so when they hunker down the only place to grab is the tail or the head but thats usually at the other end....lol. Their bellys are soft but in all they are hard for the dog to hold. You can hear the crunching noise in the video, thats my pup grinding his teeth on the shell. The armadillo only came out with a bit shorter tail and his shell pretty scratched up. Like I said not much of a challenge as far as fighting but a great animal for digging practice for me & the young sniper!
-
lets see some pics!!! Lol.....
-
Just did a quick read, it is transmitted by Armadillos about 20% of them carry it. It is believed to be caught by those who handle the raw flesh or eat the meat. But it also cautions handling them in general. SCARY news is that the disease can live in dark moist soil for up to 4 weeks and is spread to rabbits, mice and other ground dwelling animals!!! So wear gloves & wash well. Now if we can find out how it affects the dogs.
-
I hear that it is, I guess it is not too common I dont know of anyone personally who has caught it. I try to wear gloves when I remember & always make sure to wash up real good when I return home. Good point tho Im gonna have to do some more research on the issue.

Lol.... We just happen to have an abundance of them here in Texas they actually work out great for young dogs because there is no fight, & their tunnel system is pretty good. As you can tell in the very begining of the video I dont own a transmitter collar so its just the ol listen & dig method. The Armadillo kept pushing forward hence the fact I dug a billion holes! Thank God the tubes are not 20 meters deep like over on yalls side of the world I would have a freakn heart attack. These were only about 2.5 - 3 ft deep.
-
Here is a quick video of my pup Sniper in the ground working a Armadillo, he is still a bit young but he loves to hunt. We try to stay safe and keep away from known racoon hangouts. So just Armadillos for practice at the moment. Hope you guys enjoy! the "TEXICAN".

What is that?

What are you guys reffering to when you say "fits" is it a siezure or some type of health issue?
-
Well I thought I had lots of respect, but now that yall have reavealed that yall are all cross bred, alcoholic, soccer loving, fags, never mind! Ha Ha Ha. Just kidding guys. Sorry I was not more geographicaly specific, but you know what I meant. SO LETS HEAR IT WHATS THE DEEPEST YOU HAVE DUG, & HOW LONG DID IT TAKE. & IF YOU CARE TO MENTION WHAT TYPE OF GAME WAS DUG.
-
I have a great respect for you guys/gals over seas. Im not trying to polish anyones nob. But just looking at the pictures of the size holes yall dig is amazing you could burry a freaking elephant in them holes. For one your dogs are going way under the ground, Two they are staying down there forever until you guys dig down to them, & Three you fu@&ers are digging yalls asses off to get to your dog! My hats off to you guys over seas, I dont even know of an animal in the states that lives that far under ground. So far the deepest I have ever dug was probably 2-3 ft. Im sure there are guy

Good looking dog Uru, I like them rough coated ones they look tough. Hows he bred?
-
I'm located in central IL and around here the best places Ive found for taking coon is along the creek lines everything else is planted in corn or beans... Yea coons are rare in the ground where we are at here in Texas, I live 1 hr. North of Dallas. BUT if you know where to look you can find them in the ground pretty regular. Any big brushpiles or trash piles and right along the edges of creeks, I took some pics of some coon setts this morning to show everyone what they look like. They are a death trap! Lol. Now if I can just figure out how to post them using this damn phone.
-
Hey Dev hows she bred I love the looks of her!
-
G2G, you are my hero, ha ha ha. You wont catch my ass tailn no coons! Im jumpy even after their dead. Where you located? We ran a creek this morning and my young pup went ballistic on a couple of holes but thank God I had him leashed up because they were pretty coony looking setts. I dont want him to get hurt yet he's only 9 months old. Nice pics to all the guys/gals posting some good looking dogs!

Search different trap supply stores online and find the best deals. I believe we usually pay $5-$6 a piece and we order 12 at a time.

Machine, id love to, I got a friend that lives in Louisiana maybe we could head that way. Htown is a good 5 hrs from me. Benji yes sir I run a trapline in the winter and we use duke coil spring traps. 1.5's & 1.75's. Love them we do a little filing on the trigger and thats it. We ran 25 - 30 traps this winter for about 5 weeks and bagged 19 bobcats 4 coyotes, 3 grey fox, over 50 coon. Our primary target was the cats.

1 hour straight north of Dallas.

I guess being a sissy is genetic. Me and my two older sons took our pup sniper out this morning and I had them blocking holes once he went in. He flushed rats out on several holes and once the boys realized something was trying to come out of the holes they were running faster than the rats! Ha ha ha, it reminds me of myself when confronted with game if im at a disadvantage or not ready for it Im a big chicken. But in all we got out before it got too hot and the young dog did great 3 rats and an armadillo, lots of fun and hard laughs!

I feel your sorrow in my run with bulldogs I had to go through this many times it sucks! Keep your passion strong and never hold your tears back when you lose a good one. That just shows you really love and care for your dogs.

Question of breeding history. . . . .
TEXICAN replied to TEXICAN's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Hey thanks blaze. Thats all I am looking for is info to learn more about the breed in general. Papers really mean nothing to me, they just give you a little idea of what you have. I am blind to the breed if you throw a famous dogs name or breeders name out, there is about a 90% chance I will have no clue as to what you are talking about. Busterdog where are you located? -
