Just wondering what traditional pursuits will you be up to on one of the most important days in the sporting calander, anyone got anything special lined up. Personally i will be taking FPO off to one of my best bits of stalking ground, she has always helped process all the deer and even cleaned the truck out after a successfull trip, She has never been stalking before, even though she has been hinting that she would like to, so i am going to take her on what to me is one of the best days of the year. What ever you get up to hope you all have a great, safe and memorable day. Regards MT.

totally agree on that mate .i have a schmidt with the 30 mm tube and it does make a bit of difference in low light(friend has 25mm so i can compare the 2)i got the hungarian and it is exactly the same Ditto what baldie and digga said, i have a couple of the scopes you are looking at, one is german the other hungarian, there is no difference. regards MT.

Great pictures there Apollo, thanks for that, thought there must be a reason that wild boar was skinned not scalded and now i know. Would you age the carcass now or just butcher it and freeze. Regards MT.

Beauty, what calibre did he use, did it drop on the spot or run a little, is that right that you skin them not shave them like a domestic pig.

Feck me i seen it all now, those poor dogs, can you get councilling for canines, because they are sure going to have some issues.

Watch the warrener dvd, whippets at work, exactly that same thing happened.

Good to see your back safe and sound, reiterating what kay said, cant believe how much the pup has grown. Regards MT.

good afternoon from a wet and wintery wiltshire!
mole trapper replied to fishfish's topic in New Member Introductions
Tell you what fishfish, i was interested enough to take a look at your site also, unfortunatly it was not quite what i had expected, although self sufficiency is something to be applauded and in my mind a greatly sattisfiying activity it should not condone illegal and in humane ways of harvesting wild food when there are more humane methods openly available to us now, i refer to road casualties, it is not big or clever, just illegal and as already stated unnecessary. Shame really as you have the makings of a great site there. Regards MT, -

Very interesting post fish, we do a fair bit of the same, but nothing like as much as we should. Not the arty stuff, although FPO is pretty good at that sort of thing, me, well i could make a pigs ear out of a silk purse. -

Hell of a hat rack !!, will keep you busy for five minutes butchering that if you are going to do it yourself. What is the rifle, not a very clear picture, but it looks like it could be something a bit special. -

Another year and hopefully a successfull operatrion, failing that some brasher socks size 14 extra wide.

Hey Flash, not to far from me, do some of my deer stalking up near you.
-
Deker to my mind you talk much sence here, i have the .22s and then the 22 centrefires etc, i bought the 17 hmr for the in between, but then i realised there is no real in between, well not in my work anyway, within a month i flogged the 17 just could not see the point in it, the only thing i could see people wanting it for was blowing up rabbits further away and making a bloody pulp out of them. Those of you who like them fair play, i just dont see the point in having 4 rifles all near as dammit the same calibre.

Good pictures there julia, have you any ground where you would be allowed to hunt with them now that you have done some training.

We usually leave the fruit in about 6 months, we did once leave some about three years and it did go a little harsh, one bottle i have here is now 7 years old, we generally find it at its best about 2 years old. -

Trappa, yes they still count as part of your alloted quota, They are a low powered rimmy that has a plastic capsule containing lots of small lead shot, i use them on jobs where the customer does not want a hole through the roof or any other nasties, they are sufficient to kill squirrels, pigeons etc at close quaters, eg up to say 20 feet, no further though. The beauty is no ricochet or over penetration. Theobenmike, these are the older style ones, correct me if i am wrong (i am sure you will) but i think these used to be refered to as sparrow mail. If i had not used the last one up i woul -
Vaughan, i think you may be getting your mole facts slightly mixed up, they need around 20 worms a day, but they need on average about 200 mts minimum of tunnels to produce these. Regards MT. ps, WHAT MOLEY SAID ABOUT LIVECATCH TRAPS IS RIGHT, THEY ARE CRAP. Are you skiving today as well? THAT WILL BE YES MATE. weather is crap so i have given the staff a day off.

Cheers for that Deker, should have remembered GMK brought them in, Sportsman have a lot of dealings with them, so will give them a bell. Always remove the mod of the BRNO when i use these, Sometimes i think it would be worth getting a .22 pistol to use them in as the look on customers faces can be a picture when they see the gun slip, trouble is dont really want that much money tied up in something that is not used every week. Cheers again MT.
