  1. You aren't joking! I've just found out I'm coming across Thursday to Saturday next week, if you fancy a quick spin up to Brittany I'll save you carrying one parcel, lol.Incidentally, I checked a job this morning where I had two putanges in one hole, both had caught in exactly the same way, and I do mean exactly! Directly behind the head and left paw forward, if the customer hadn't been there I would have photographed it.
  2. Sooner they arrive the better! I'm starting to rely quite heavily on these now, never thought I would say that about anything other than the duffus.
  3. We regularly take moles out of traps where the tunnels are completely full of water, I used to think when setting in real boggy ground that there was no chance with water already running through, but sure enough come back and there they were.
  4. I revisited these again recently, more out of annoyance at myself not being able to catch with them more than anything else. No good! Still can't catch with them, tried the ball, no ball, partial fill, complete fill. They've now gon back to the shed to be used for holding dust clothes etc to scaffolding when needed, think that's probably what they are really for if the truth be known.
  5. Will do! When I've got some braid. Lol. Thought I had some thirty pound here, but it's only ten, I think the way these beggars go off they will snap anything under thirty!!!!
  6. Some more really useful tips there, wouldn't have thought to set them and see if they are sprung in the morning. As for the slippy when new, that's why I ordered a pack of spares! if they ain't tied and they ping, your never going to see that trigger again unless your in a 2'x2' room!I have "ahem", several traps here without triggers. Lol.
  7. I was particularly interested in the different ways we all go about things! I too use a spoon, but your retaining pins being sort of like a bent tent peg. Mine that I originally made for use with my traplines, and now my putanges, is for lack of a better description like a woman's hair pin but made of non tensile fencing wire and about three inches deep/long, so I just put one leg either side of the putange spring to hold it in place. Coming back to the spoon, I use it not only to clear and smooth the pipe (run/tunnel) I also use it as a gauge to check direction and depth to ensure the putang
  8. Hiya Clive, as promised you should have funds for another 20! Good marketing ploy, that video. Lol.
  9. Hay, you vewy funny man! Video very good too! If someone can't catch a mole after that they must be clueless. I'm reaching for the putange out of preference more and more, a real bonus is that to date I've not had a single mole in one that was caught inhumanley, no matter how good you are with barrels, it still sometimes happens. Only downside of this video, is it reminded I haven't been back in France since end of July.
  10. Already did about a week ago! Lol I'll send it again.
  11. I'm on tonight, but from the bedroom window! We had a bad Fox attack couple of nights ago, killed 15 fowl and four ducks, put all the dead down at my hundred yard killing areas pegged down. Plenty of moon tonight and no cloud, 56mm sidewinder turned down to 10x, foxy, meet Mr .308 loaded with hornandy tac,s. Hopefully the barsteward will pop in for a snack.
  12. Not had any go off yet, just finished the last bottle from the first mash which was done in February. I think as long as you check your final gravity it will be fine, the teaspoon of caster is literally only enough to give some carbonation. That said, I probably wouldn't use wine bottles, I use proper beer/cider bottles.
  13. Nah, look for the picture I put on years ago where I took the knuckle off my middle finger with a duffus one extremely cold January day! You would think I used a chainsaw.
  14. Hiya Clive, can you add an extra set of pliers to my order please? Cheers, Jamie.
  15. Very very naughty! I would read him the riot act for that, I've had people/customers mess with my sets in the past and it seriously made my piss boil. Just another good example of why you should never charge by the mole, they can't argue your bill when there's not a new hill to be seen.
  16. Lots oflike minded people shooting springers from the most basic bam to the most uber tuned top end rifles, trying everyone's rifles to see what you think. Under cover bench to shoot from, mobile catering, bring and buy/swap.Camping, caravans, bonfires, talking crap and drinking. Just an out and out good time.
  17. I said exactly the same for the first two years they held it, then one day thought Feck it, were here for a good time not a long time. Having had some pretty bad luck on the health front has made me 're think my priorities.
  18. Takes us two and a half hours from north Cornwall in the van! And to be honest it's seriously worth it for the fun, totally chillaxed weekend.
  19. I believe the official dates are 6-8th November, but Mick who's farm it is has a very laid back attitude, so several pay their £20 and stay a night or two either side of the official dates. Some cracking pubs close by on the side of the canals too.
  20. Just wondering if any one of here is going to the next boinger bash up at Nuneaton? Being as there's so many springer enthusiasts on here I thought it likely. Did my first one at the August meet, what a craic! Hundreds of targets, lots of piss taking, bonfires every night etc. Can't recommend it highly enough.
