My.old whippet dog took his fair share of hares in his day and a good number of fox 30+ over seven years not a lot compared to some of you lads but most were worked out of woodland and rough cover by him and sometimes with old Bedlington bushing

She's 20 1/2. She's had a few but there were she's worked them and put them up herself not got the speed for a long slip. She does well on rats ferreting and lamp. took a few fox doubled up.

I'm lucky my missus Is a head vet nurse she got me injection and i just kept washing with hibi scrub

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what bird to start out with and any books dvds etc for a total novice

I've had whippets for years now and bred a couple of litters with my Bedlington and never had any complaints about the pups. You can't expect a little dog to do what a 27 inch bull grey or a coursing dog to do. Just as you wouldn't expect one of those to be a good ferreting or mooching dog in rough small fields or around farm buildings ratting etc.

Anyone had trouble with this this year. Mine and a friends dog suffered with bad this year

It's the same on the lurcher section maybe even worse you can't ask a serious question without a torrent of abuse usually from the same people who seem to spend more time on here than out in the field. If you have nothing constructive to say don't say anything. This used to be a good site were you could get help off genuine dog people.

Yeah I have but openly saying you have no permission but hunt anyway just enforces what a lot of the public think about lurcher owners. And if your going to.get caught poaching or breaking the law why add a thousand pound fine on top just for a ten pound chip

Some of peoples comments on here are ridiculous it's no wonder huntings on is arse if you're poaching or breaking the law you deserve everything you get and a ten pound chip won't make a difference you've already been caught

Near derby . Not seen any signs of deer although theres a big wood not to far away that holds a few

Theres no shoots nearby and the woods been left for years theres a few wild pheasnts knocking around . Weve been doing pest control on the farm for a couple of years . It is pretty wet ground maybe a pond would be something to think about in the future
