i have an AA s200 , great gun and very accurate, light to carry ,i think there great wee guns , pellet on pellet ,i have fitted the multi shot which is a good bit of kit and usually fill it to around 175 bar , gives me 40 full powered shot ,i have 2 mags with it, so it 2 mags then 2 reloads and then i know the gun needs charged . i think this gun is second to none as an introductory pcp rifle and you wont be disappointed. nobody seems to use the VK model, mmm maybe thats a sign , im still not sure what one to buy ,i know it will help a lot with getting to know my ranges ,just want to make sure i get the right one , im leaning towards the hawke purely because its what everyone else seems to use but on the other hand the VK is £30 cheaper .why cant things just be easy eh.
-
thanks for the replys guys, tony what type did you buy ,just out of curiosity , i noticed the specs on both the lrf i mentioned say they measure in meters but i believe the hawke can do both yards and meters , im not sure about the VK, anyone know if thats true . Peter

Hi everyone , i am about to buy a laser range finder , either the hawke 400 which is £114 or the VK which is £83 .my question is has anybody used either of these models before as the spec for them is exactly the same and im wondering if it would be worth while buying the Vk and using the money i would save to go towards a bipod or are these inferior to the hawke ,i cant find any reviews for Vk . Thought i would ask as someone on the forum will know the answer im sure .Oh and while im posting might as well ask how does the bipod fit to the rifle , i bought the rifle second hand and it was used

Hi there , i recently got a new permission with feral pigeon and rat problems ,i went out for rats last week for the first time with my mate , neither of us had shot rats before .i have a gun mounted lamp with a red/amber filter on it .we arrived a half hour before dark and got set up, it was only getting grey dark and the first rat appeared , my mate got the first kill from 15yards which was quickly followed by myself with one at 25yards ,approx (best shot of the night in my opinion).they then started to steadily appear ,we were there for 2 hrs just and managed 10 rats , i thought that was pr

i have one of these ,they are great, i use mine on fishing trips all the time , as you say its boils real quick and just using twigs and stuff lying around , i dont have the cooking kit, but you can use a small frying pan on the embers as the cooking kit is pretty small.beats a flask every time ,now my mates just wait til im boiling it up and appear with there cups all set up for there coffee , i stick to frying bacon or eggs to put on a roll, nowt fancy but tastes great on a day when the weather is bad and you need some descent grub instead of crisps and chocolate. Hi there ,im going to set the parallax at say 40 yards and zero at 35 , then i iwill do as you say and try it at all the various ranges. hopefully it will be cured and i will again trust it to put the pellet where i want it. cheers Peter

hi there , thanks for the replys, phantom its an s200 im shooting and basically bought the gun as its recommended for accuracy ,when i zero the gun at say 30 yards and then when i shoot at say 10 yards the pellet hits 3 or 4 mm to the left, is this due to parallax. iv not got a clue about this to be honest , i was using the focus at the front of the scope basically toget the clearest image ,but the yardage on the scope is not strictly correct as it may read different to the actual distance , does this matter. sorry for questions , but i thought there was a way to adjust this .

i have a Hawke nite eye 3x12x50 AO scope and would like to know how i adjust the parallax and what range is best for air rifles . any advice would be great. Peter

Pellet projection - question for all
pedro68 replied to vizlauk's topic in General Airgun Discussion
hi mikey , i tried to pm you , i would let me ,said you were unable to receive pm's , i have seen on ebay you can buy sports match adjustable mounts ,could this be the way to go or can i modify the ones i have some how to make the level and more centred .i dont want to keep throwing money at this until i know it will defo fix it. i have already tried setting the scope up with the spirit level and plumb line so i not sure it could be that, i never gave it much thought before but it seems to me that the mounts should be level and centre and everything else will fall into place, but what the he -
Pellet projection - question for all
pedro68 replied to vizlauk's topic in General Airgun Discussion
hi mikey, i watched the clip you posted and thats pretty much how i had set the scope up , if i put the mount on the scope and look along the rifle it actual looks off centre from the barrel by a few mill or so and canting over , surely this would explain what once zeroed at 30 yards and a target at say 15 yards is set up and i put the cross hairs on centre the pellet lands of to the left.im starting to panic here -

pedro68 replied to vizlauk's topic in General Airgun Discussion

Pellet projection - question for all
pedro68 replied to vizlauk's topic in General Airgun Discussion
hi there , im having to exact same problem with my s200, im pulling my hair out or whats left of it trying to solve this problem. i have done as suggested by mikey and want to check i have done it correctly . i put the first mount with the allen nuts facing left the other mount with the allen nuts facing right , now should they be aligned when put together like this as these mounts are about 3mm off set from each other this way.when the allen nuts are both on the same side they look ok to the naked eye. what do you suggest and what can i do to fix this. -
well i think we may have cracked it here , iv just changed the mounts and re zeroed in my garage ,and now the pellet hits the cross hairs spot on not of to the left ,i will check it at 15yards tomorrow morning but im really hopeful , i think its cured , il keep you up to date but really grateful for the help on the forum, some smart cookies on here . cheers peter
-
hi there ,thanks for the replys , i will try and change the mounts around and if that dont work ill swap the scope and try that ,if the scope rails are not true can these be adjusted,at least if try this it will either cure it or rule it out of the equation . thanks for the advice. Peter

Hi there . i have a question for everyone , i recently bought a second hand S200,my problem is when i zero the gun at say 15yards and the fire it into the pellet trap in my garage at 5 yards the gun is shooting about 4mm to the left , if i rezero at this range and then go back out my back garden and shoot at 15yards again its off zero again, i will need to go to my permission and check what its like at 30 yards ,my springer however is zeroed at 25yard and it doesnt do this ,i can shoot from 5 to 35 yards and the left and right doesnt move only the hold over or under.i have removed the silencer

aa s200 pellet droping
pedro68 replied to karl8962's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
i just bought a second hand S200, the guy i bought it from said to fill to 180 -200 bar ,have been testing it with a crono and at 200 bar its down a ft/lb from the sweet spot at 160 bar , i now fill to 170 and get around 35-40 consistant shot before it drops off rapidly , but 35 shot for a hunting trip i feel is plenty. -
hi there , iv just changed the batteries and the results have slightly improved ,i will check the sensors are properly set and see what the results are , my mate is coming up with his chrono and we will compare them and see what the difference is,i have no faith in mine now,i phoned combro and the guy was helpful, suggested batteries and ensuring the pelletis passing through the laser, if its still suspect i have to return it for repair and the cost will be no more than £7.50 max.So hopefully it will soon be resolved one way or the other.Im also going to the gun shop on friday so will take both

hi there , thanks for replying, iv checked all the settings , im in grains and feet per second ,iv emailed combro and will see what they suggest, the gun cant have dropped 2 fft/lbs in half an hour from being checked at the shop, maybe iv done something wrong ,worked fine before tho.really frustrating as i like to know what my guns are putting out. Peter

yep mate , checked and rechecked the pellet weight was correct and was shooting into the pellet trap which was almost level with the gun, was in my garage as someone mentioned to me that the light could effect the readings ,will maybe try it again in the back garden and see if it reads any differnt ,other than that im stuck with what to try next .
