Top Class Smooth Working Lurchers , Sire : Top 22" Blue Working Whippet with strong racing lines (sootys, Lagunas etc) excellent dog , many "working photos avail" Dam: 25" Brindle greyhound x whip/saulki , The bitch is one hell of a dog, shes dam fast, super keen, sensible, loving, and the one to be beat! we are NOT trophy hunters going to game fairs day in day out, but when we do go for a trip she clears up, ....... winner for many many championships in Straight & Sim coursing, also this bitch has won most of the highest awards in showing for 23" over smooth bitch. 9. We are thinking about getting a non ped whippet puppy. We have lurchers but would like a smaller version we would race him/her so if anyone knows of a litter pls pm me. we are in yorkshire so if its close thats a bonus but can travel. i would like a bigger dog than a fine framed type. but still quick enough to do the job
  10. yeah just heard that they did some racing!! Thats good - were going tomorrow. Just taking my brindle pup thou.
  11. They have "chase the bunny" in the main arena, but no racing classes. ANyone know what time the showing is? It is £5 each for lurcher handlers.
  12. erm....what about getting the hubby interested? lol. I had 3 lurchers when i met him, then after months of persuasion i got him to build a cool ferret shed, and i got 2 ferrets (they are all my pets) He enjoys the shows, playing with the ferrets etc. But its me who puts the real work in, and he understands what i get from it now. p.s - i got another puppy too..so it works hahaha
  13. they are def long dogs to me, where as marks with a bit of collie in it defies it as a lurcher. its just a shame that some people race there dogs in the incorrect catagories, and as mentioned on K9 stop glory hunting and be more spotsman like. All for a bloody £1 lurcher race with a poxy rosette next ill be riding my ex racehorse in a gymkhana against kids
  14. i bred whippet/fox terrier x 3/4whippet/bull they ranged from 19 - 22" and are cracking lil dogs, i have a pic but they were only about 9 months in the pic my mum kept one for herself. i have the dam shes a cracking lil bitch but rough coated and had the dad but he stood at 22" and was a bit too keen! lol
  15. as everyone else has said, def got some shepard somewhere
  16. yes i had one!!!! could keep him due to a house move this year though , he coursed well, and did great showing he was an excelent dog about 25", rough coated, quick. too time to mature though and was a bit slow (in a nice way though. he didnt work off hes own back waited to be told) lovely dog thou
  17. if your happy then yes. sure they will work great. i bred a pecurliar mix and we kept a pup, hes the best thing since lifes bred and the other owners think so too. p.s (i bred whippet/fox terrier x whippet/grey/staff) i got 22" quick little buggers with loads of drive, rough coats, great legs and brains.) hope they work out for you as well as mine did. merry crimbo
  18. cage. i had 8 x 8week old pups cage trained, obviously they went out regulary to relieve themselves, but they never had an accident in there cage, all there new owners carried this on and they were all trained in there new homes too .
  19. ive been doing my reasearch and there is distinct differnces in there teeth, skulls and polecats have 4 genes differnce. there temp is a bit "keener" too, and of course polecats are frosty colours than ferrets that come in every colour. not sure with teh crosses, but it made clear that dogs and wolves etc can breed and make fertile offsrping but they are a different speices and mixing them should be avoided! it said that there can be a few defects in a litter that are ferret/polecat mix.
