info on working deerhounds would be nice. i need to plug into the network find the breeder i want and begin my deerhound experience. sad to hear that there really is no dog to make the cut but two dogs is better than one i suppose.

i recently was looking at breeds of dog that would suit my needs and the deerhound was one that stood out to me. i know they are great chasers which is what i want but i also want a capable retriever with a soft mouth and webbed feet. also, good with kids. labradors are too slow and the german pointers i've worked with just don't match my temperament. i want a dog to run with and hunting for deer, turkey, rabbits, antelope and even quail, pheasant, duck and geese. i need to know if this dog will make the cut
