  1. Just bought a Jack Russell puppy bitch for the same thing. Did plenty of ringing around and found a litter of farm pups that go back generations. Mainly used for ratting but good at flushing cover. No real history of them going to ground so fingers crossed she wont. I cant do with the drama and carrying a shovel everywhere I go
  2. I would guess she is in season, if you are in any doubt you should take her to the vet. How old is she? as most bitches have there first season between 6 to 12 months, some differ
  3. Hi Dave, thanks very much for the offer, but hope to be sorted by then. Nice to see a fellow man of kent offering a hand

  5. I am down in Kent and after a couple of ferrets. I am a new comer to ferrets so would prefer a pair of already workers but know this may be a tall order at this time of year. So will settle for a pair of well handled young. Would welcome any help. Thanks Thorny
  6. Spoken by a fella that has not raised a litter of pups for many a year or if ever. Vet bills and feeding them alone, if done properly and from the pictures I woupld say they guy has. He will be lucky to break even. That sort of money for a dog that could be with You for 15 years and work and give plenty of fun and entertainment for a large part of it. Yeah thats day light robbery
  7. That brindle is a lovely looking dog. How tall is He

  12. Saw them run at Nestledown track in Lingfield years ago. What a joke looked like flying carpets waddleing round the track. And the fact they had hair nets on just had me in bits
  13. Here is My lad, Greyhound x Collie Only a young dog at 14 months old, but is learning his trade well, in and out of cover, taking to the lamp and full of running. Not an allround lurcher by any stretch of the imagination yet, but fingers crossed He has a first good season.
  14. My boy at 8 weeks First catch at just shy of his first birthday cheers Thorny
  15. I had this with a litter of pups I bred some years ago. Before they left me I took them all down vets for an MOT and jabs. My usual vet was on holiday so we had His stand in. Out of the 6 pups He said 3 had heart murmurs. I came home gutted. Within Bull Terriers there is heredatory heart problem so, phoned where I had my older dogs tested for heart complaints. Spoke to the cradioligist guy there and he said " it would be hard to diagnose a pup of a young age with a heart murmur, as there is still movement and growing within the heart and valves, this can rasp as it is listen to and sound as if
  16. What a shame and reading from Your other posts, its easy to see She will be sorely missed. Did She have any bull blood in Her make up? Reason I ask as I know of a couple of Bullys that have died to Eclampsia weeks after there litter. They just give 100% to there pups and just crash. These have been Bull Terrier bitch`s not crosses. I had a bitch with with Pro Eclampsia after a litter I took Her to vets for a jab and on the table the vet said the condition she was at would of near killed almost any other breed of dog, although she looked fine and was eating and drinking as normal. The only sign
  17. Nice dog that mate, and I would say probabley more of an unusual cross, with Bull Terrier blood. Looks to have some engine at the back. Doesnt look to heavy for a first cross. How does He fair over a hard night work? Thorny

  21. Whilst out with the dog last night I bumped into a lad walking his 3/4 whippet x bull. Cracking little dog,was in fine shape and looked like a machine. The dogs had a run around for a while He turned My collie x Grey inside out, although My boy is 28"tts and this little whippet x was 21"tts. The lad said He will do anything he asks of him and and has never looked back. We exchanged numbers and are going out together when the season starts. Just wondered who elses works this type and how they find them. Few pictures would also be nice. Cheers Thorny
