Putting a good dog out on the land doesnt happen by accident its a learning curve, some do it by pumping money like a tap pumps water and changing dogs at the change of the moon. Many follow this path and never get to even a reasonable level of stock or working ability. Stockmanship like any trade or profession needs to be taught and worked at, some folk have a natural aptitude but a good mentor can be the catalyst that makes the difference in capabilities. Like the saying goes it costs as much to feed a bad dog as it does a good one.Yes people have different needs and different standards what they expect from a dog .For a working dog the requirements should far out weigh the sentiments. if it works to a decent standard then its earned its keep ,if not then its not doing the dog or a new home any favours and only leads to bad feeling or sub standard stock, pts or culling is the way to improve whats about.

You couldnt keep a drone airborne 24/7, but there are plenty of descreet surveilance camera,s no bigger than a jacket button these placed strategically around your place remotely linked back to a 10 day recording system would serve athe purpose. What theory? pure bred stock litters come out pretty uniform except for capability thats down to luck and right owner ,training and entering. X bred the clue is in the name x ,so variations in all aspects can be expected unless a very tight line breed is adhered to for years, then certain things can be enhanced or minamalised by selective breeding. There are no written guarantees in the dog game as to capabilities.

Same with any breed some can cut it some cant but at least you have a good idea whats coming, X breds can vary even in size range colours confirmation etc even in the same litter the more breeds added the bigger the variation if youput to much water in the milk you end up with coloured water.

Chalky and the Boys are Hare coursers with purpose bred coursing dogs they dont like to put their dogs on other stuff I know., Salukis are a sighthound running dog that takes the full spectrum of game legal or not. They in the right hands and from the right stock can do the required field or fen. Hedges are part and parcel of coursing. Hares will use hedgelines where available at every opportunity to evade the hound more than most other game. I Dont know what Salukis you have been watching but you have a lot of poor information. If any of my Salukis wouldnt take fox they would be pts no question they are working dogs I expect my dogs to work . As for Salukis not being bred for fox its a natural quarry for them in COO.
