    Genetics runs throughout the dogs history from year dot to breed a fast dog to a fast bich doesnt mean instant sucess it is the generations that have gone before the confirmation of the dog the rearing the mental stimulation the dog recieves as a pup and in later life all play a part in the attributes a dog may or may not have, no doubt the breeding the true to type line bred stuff plays a part but no dog is perfect irrespective of what some people assume faults or defects can show generations down the line, one can only do the home work and with the right combination of forsight and luck hop

    Its the same story line bred .... type bred you have a better chance of something decent in lines that are proven but at the end of the day the genes, the rearing, the training, the running and the owner all play a part in the dog so you pay your money and you take your chance.

    All my salukis are together 1 dog 2 bitches no problem at all just seperate them at time bitch comes in season and I always stand when feeding them but other than that no problem. The lad who said his bitch and its daughter fight its well known lads can live to gether easily but two females cant live in the same house LOL

    Why are the Irish lads so desperate to run in Ireland. They are the ones saying English dogs are not up to running and the hares are to slow come on over in December / January boys or carnt you dogs run the bigland s just those allotments you call fields . Walls fences are not part of a good course are they and if your irish hounds are so fast at the kill they should do well on the big lands as long as they dont get straight lined all the time .

    It would be the lads who had enough confidence in thier dogs to travel and put the entry fee up so assume the dogs would be top drawer why would there need to be money involved it would be interesting to see the result The money would ensure lads turn up it wouldnt need to be a lot it would give four lads the chance to cover thier travel and lodgings I personally would do it just for the craic

    Dream on what way do you see it Let us use your own logic you say Irish dog running in Ireland would win hands down and that 50/50 in England then surely the sporting challenge would be the 50/50 wouldnt it so take up Brookies challenge why not make it 8 dogs 4 in england an 4 in ire an send two over each 4 run that side and then the same 4 run this side and vice versa I think it could be a goer

    Its a well known fact that irish greyhounds and race horses are blue blood stock must be the minerals in the ground but the timewhen it can be taken for granted has long since gone for example the fastes greyhound wasnt it bred in Australia? the Amrican and french horses also now get thier fair share of winners but coursing dogs is a whole new ball game so forget the irish bred dogs are best it doesnt work like that now
