male salukis can be very agressive and dominant this is a natural trait in the breed. Salukis are in general very aloof with other breeds and seem to have a sixth sense as to which are working dogs and which arent, Some that are agressive can even appear shy and even timid to avoid a confrontation but if they do decide to kick off they have a vicious streak and can inflict serious injury be it human or animal on the receiving end. Salukis tend to feel trapped when on the slip and to be attacked by another dog only serves to reinforce this feeling of being cornered , it will be a lengthy proc

many lads coursing would also keep the catch and eat it but this ban on coursing means you are caught with the game you are convicted of coursing by self incrimination because no court will listen your dog found it lying in a hedgerow as for not being harrased you are very lucky indeed -

Although I agree 100% in what you are saying. I think the biggest issue is that we are outnumbered 100-1. Unfortunately we are the minority. The anti's have the media onside. We don't... which makes it a loosing battle. all battles are losing battles unless you fight them, antis are only 100/1 because they are more vocal and utalise every media facility. ,the pecentage of the ,population who engage in sporting activities like shooting , riding, hunting hound trailing, is just as great, if it is left how long before fishing is banned for being cruel pigeon racing is considered cruel by the -

people complain about the unfairness of the ban and post articles the tree huggers and antis write , isnt it time to fight back people start harassing thier members of parliament, thier local political parties and those who have political ambitions, If you are accosted by over zealous police officers while carrying out legal country sport pursuit then write to the Chief Constable and complain or get a solicitor to do it on your behalf. The police have been instructed to make life as difficult as possible for suspected poachers , which as far as I can see means anyone in the company of a lurche -
I noticed you run a bitch? they are known for maturing earlier than dogs mate, I agree on the whole that 'most' saluki 'dogs' do take longer to mature mentaly. Physicaly they can be right or as near as right be nine /12month, just cos the body can don't mean the mind can and will allow the body too...... its all fine having a little looksee slip, but be prepared to see summat ya dont wanna see...after all its just a looksee lol its at that point most simply sell on said dog another one on the merrygoround, mind I do conceed theres always an exception to the rules..... each dog is an individual

your talking bull shit how do you reckon salukis are not late maturers a pure doesnt become matue to around 3/4 years you get th odd exception bu most are older. The reason so many salukis get f****d up is running them before they are ready, my experience which is reasonable you let them mature at thier own pace, i have never heard of a dog being f****d up by leaving it to long but plenty f****d up by starting to early

I see you refer to saluki type I am refering to pure salukis. out in cco we have the dogs to pin the quarry so we can halal it ourselves if it is to be eaten, how would they retrieve a gazzele? On occaisions when they do kill the quarry then it is discarded and feed to the dogs later. I am a gret believer in letting the dog behave in the most natural manner, many saluki bitches will retrieve quarry quiet naturally as it appears to be a pre conditioned instinct to bring it back to a litter for example. Males are quiet different and are very possesive of what they catch usually relinquishing it i

and whats the differance with if he associates the head with what he catches??? gem if i was you id work on retrieve training and when he does come in make sure you give him lots of fuss and praise ... the head is one of the resons he doesnt want to give it up because he associates it with food not rocket science how many salukis have you owned or trained not as many as me I will wager do only salukis do this? my dog (which isnt a saluki) will retrieve everytime , wether its an easy retrieve or over a fence retrieve , not once will he think about the rabbit being food... till after i

dont give the head he associates that with what he catches open it up and give him the heart and liver as a treat do it a couple of times dont let him play with the carcass, or alternative have a small bag of chicken liver nd heart in your pocket soon as he brings his catch back take it and give him the chicken innards

soldiers get paid to do a job some do a good one some bad. On battle field it is the survival of th fittest The Geneva convention was drawn up by western goverments along with the soviet union and japan . the articles of war and procedure were the wests invention but they are the first to complain when they are applied for example bloody sunday, you cant have your cake and eat it

I am 62 and been round them all my life same as with any dogs some dont make the grade but given the right lines correct rearing and the right man on the slip a genuine saluki will do more long ones in a day than a x
