I've always kept all my ferrets together and have never had any problems with fighting etc. if your court is big enough there shouldn't be problems. I use jills for ferreting and that is only because my hob won't stop stratching his box when he is in it and it drives me nuts!! Plus when you dig to him he will bite you or the spade.....not nice :realmad: Yet he has never looked like biting me or my nieces when not rabbiting. My hob has also been snipped so he can take the jills out of season so he is worth keeping. I also like him as a ferret. Jills can also be used for ratting.

It's the greyhound that is the most important part of the lurcher and NOT the sundry breeds usually crossed with it. Reduce the size and raw speed of the greyhound and Voila..........a durable killing machine.

I thought it was pants when I watched it a few months ago. Fox scene was okay but where was it going to go? What was the chain link fencing all about? As for releasing the black rabbit and then tracking it across the dunes, you don't need no dog or hawk........just follow the footprints..... The producers were apparently going to make a sequel but fell out and it never happened.....sounds like dogmen to me!!

Lagunas.......old hat, yesterday's dogs. Someone has already posted a list of lines you want to be looking for, or alternatively go for the larger whippets out of the racing lines. 26lbs + The racing whippet owners offload big pups as they don't want a dog that will top 21" or 32lb and these can be bought cheaply (£150 -£200). Keep away from the show stuff for obvious reasons.

Hunt in the early morning and late evening. Dogs dying of heatstroke in the UK should be extremely rare.

Cheers for the replies, but don't you need to get ground and reasons for having a firearm? Would you get a .303 on the premise of shooting rabbits and if you did what would be left of the bunny.........

I see the House of Lords is to benefit from the great pearls of wisdom Tony Banks has to offer and I can't wait to see how his lateral thinking will bear up in the debates. Myabe that is the real reason that the Lords will soon only have 60 days to discuss new laws as otherwise the boneheads they are elevating to that level simply won't be able to keep up!! Is it time to think about emigrating?

Potter, it maybe that you have been lucky. It maybe that critics would say you don't require a lot from a dog, or it just maybe you know what animal suits you and can bring it on in the right way! I think it is more of the latter.
