Better watch what your doing mate.... bold statements like that will see you getting asked your hunting credentials, followed by a challenge of dogs and then an instant ban -
Where was that mate? in days gone bye,pre ban.Stirling had an estate that i wont name, although we nick named it the drive through.the first week in september you would see groups of 20 and 30 young hares running around all over these couple of very large feilds.needless to say the keepers took our presence the wrong way and after 3 or 4 years of persecution (GUNS) the place never got back to the glorious drive through we once LOVED Hmmmmmmmmmm think I know where your talking about mate but I'm sure we called it the motorway. well it was RIGHT beside the motorway its all insi

I'm turning it into a slagging match!!! If you think I'm going to stand back and listen to someone claim they are the spokesman for the hare and scottish hares are pish then your mistaken. Sorry about calling your wee buddy(who clearly wants to lick every orifice of your body) your boyfriend but he did come on saying you know it all but if this offended you then I appolagise. As for it being your personal opinion, why were you so concerned about my hunting credentials when I questioned it? Anyhow, that offer of proving you wrong still stands whenever you like to take it up...... I'll not hold

You keep mentioning perth as if it is in the highlands.... Its about 100 miles south of me but you reckon your a know all and a spokesman of the qualities of the Scottish hare!!! I've told you where I have run hares, I ain't about to give you specific landowners if that is what you want. I have also run in england on decent hares, never thought at the time they were special mind you.... or maybe I ain't as small minded as you and generalise a whole country on the basis of a couple of runs...... I don't doubt you have run hares for years; I think you will find it is you who thinks they ar

So from what you say a fen bred dog is more suited to run the further north you go??? That's got to be the biggest load of pish I've ever had the misfortune of reading.... What im saying is the hare arnt as good over the Border , iv ran them , wer have you run ,im speaking from personal experiance not second hand information ! So what happen if a hare crosses the border does make it easyer our harder ? Depends which way it goes.... if it comes up the way.... it loses the will to live.... if goes down the way, it's chest expands, legs grow and becomes a much superior a

Hey, run from your wife, what's this I hear you have a gay calander in your shed??? :friends: :friends: Whats that all about mate lol.... :tongue4: hahhaha, feed the hare..... how come my calander has gone from a guy with no top on to a "gay calander" which is in fact a womans calender, as it is her shed as well. lol. Hey if you want to come round and i'll feed you peanuts, your more than welcome my big hairy fella... x LOL mate, your holding it together well today if you don't mind me saying so..... I did hear the calander was this years gay and proud edition..... but

Well said mate. We both know the fen dogs wouldn't catch a crisp poke on some of the land up here... They like to give it large they would and their dogs are the best of the best.... anyone who runs up here knows our hares aren't as easy as they make out and their dogs aren't as good as they make out...... But, if they didn't say they were, they couldn't sell the puppies for all that money.....

Ran them in Scotland from Caithness to Jedburgh.... I know you guys think you are the only ones that have done anything but I can assure you, your wrang. I stay close to Inverness and have enough " experience" to know you can't label a whole country a

Yeah, totally agree and well worded.... The only thing you seem to have missed out is uncomfatable running for the hardest of dogs, say, scree, mountain sides, steep baby heads moorland.. A big 28" speed merchant would not catch over this type of ground...unless your running the blue hare ! before you all jump on.. Yeah, I'd agree with that mate.

dont be daft, the interestc is nearly a 900 quid a week.... Hmmmm.....so that would be at a 5% base rate....which would mean you'd 'pay' yourself a salary of around £50,000 (tax free) pa. Very nice, but you wouldn't be 'uber' rich...and if you stopped working, wouldn't have any salary coming in. Well if you cant live off 50 ooogrand a year then i dont know.... I thikn your trying to make it look as if your some rich dude.. And if you are then great... But i'd rather catch more game, and be happy than try to better my neigbhours ferrari, lol... Oh, it's okay
-
Right, here is my tuppence worth in the errr debacle..... If you have a good dog which has a good balance of both speed and stamina then theoretically, it should catch hares on any ground where others catch them... However, if you have a speed bomb which can catch hares in tight fields but burns out fast then in larger fields, if the hare can avoid getting caught fast stands a good chance of out running said dog... A hare has to slow down to go under gates etc and a lot of them are caught trying to escape a field. Same applies if you have a plodder type saluki, its ok in large areas with no es

First of all colon, how can you tell "I'm" looking proud in the picture since you can't see my head? Secondly, it isn't me in the picture and thirdly, the reason the picture is there is to make the very point you just did against the so called best dogs in the world!!! Well done you
-
LOL.............. There we have it..... I knew it would turn around to a fen dog is the best in the world as per usual. Let me tell you colonel, a fen dog wont catch anywhere no matter what your little boyfriend says and if your wanting me to take you to ground and prove you wrong...... no probs, just say the word..... A fen dog will catch hares anywhere HAW HAW HAW.............. pleeeeeeeeeease

Tomo, never once did i say it wasnt possible..... never once.... As my dogs do it up there regular.... T howley has just sold a good dog, in fact he said it was the best bitch he has ever seen, and he's seen alot hasnt he mate... Do you think it would have been worth that money, had he took the buyer to watch it up there!! Why do people twist things around on here.... And who ever mentioned BLUE HARES on rugged moorland, well come on, a fit doberman could catch them! nobodys twisting things round, this is what you wrote you bring an out and out fen dog
