Used to fish the 'nugget' on the Spey estuary, wee bit of brass bar, kinda coffin shaped....hammered into shape, drilled at both ends, treble at one end and a swivel at the other. Whack it to the horizon and retrieve like a madman....as fast as possible, great sport....

I've got a mate and he has a saying, if your cars breaks, you go to a mechanic, if your teeth hurt, you go to the dentist, basically, if you need a service you go to a professional.....and those girls are professionals, so whats the problem?

That wee Sako Forester I have in .243 is pin accurate, I wont part with it. It also has the floor plate mag, Doesnt bother me at all, except when wearing gloves in the winter, can get a wee bit footery.....

I got caught in the middle of Whiteadder reservoir in the middle of a storm...havnt rowed so fast in my life, whilst keeping as flat to the gunwales as possible!! I am 6ft + and my mate Chewie is 6ft 8, plus we were waving about 10 foot bits of carbon, I thought we were a nap to get fried.....was a scary night...the lightening struck an old tree at the bottom end of the loch and I was sure we were getting it next.....

My uncle is right into coarse fishing and he has something similar to that on his wall, dunno about using it in the salt, think it must be worth saving?

Fantastic, hope to do the same with my pair some day in the not too distant future....get them hooked early! Also, fair play to the wee man for an unhurried and unexcited shot.....I still get excited every time I get a buck in my sights.....I think when I dont, its time to give up!!

Ha ha Billy! I think there are quite a few windows out onto the loch, but aye, its a nice wee place to live, surrounded by countryside and a nice big loch full of fish in the middle of the village....and some not too bad wee pubs!

Never saw a pike billy, there are sessions for them available at certain times I believe. Speaking to a guy I know locally, he reckons Linlithgow Loch is the Mecca for pike fishing, fly-fishing for pike that is...he has had sessions with up to 10 doubles, including fish over 30lb. I don't know much about pike fishing, but that is what this guy said to me....he reckons Linlithgow is better than Mentieth....I might give it a go one day, I can see the loch from my living room window!!!

Did a double shift over the weekend, the mrs let me away to do it, bless her! Fished 18:00 - 23:00 on friday, had a barbie and got our heads down till 03:00 on saturday morning, got up and fished 04:00 till 09:30..... Brilliant sessions, 18+ on Friday night and had 24 in the boat on saturday, 8 were over 5lb and they were crackers, one on the friday night was well over 5lb and was overwintered, had a tail like a spade.... Got them all on emergers and cdc dries, great sport on my wee sage 4 weight.... Couple of photies, me with a rainbow and the big man with a blue that was over

Midgies are bad now, I did a double shift on Mentieth Friday night and early shift on Saturday....friday night was horrendous, if the boat drifted too close to the shore we got eaten alive....great fishing though, best sessions I have had......

Get some Deuchars IPA into you, thats nice in bottles and draught. Had a few bonkers ales in my time, Theakstons Old Pecuiler did bad things to me.....and I had a pint of some local hootch in the Gin Trap in Guildford area....only identifier was 6 x's burned into the barrel, it was gravity fed stuff, the barrel was on top of the bar.....had to drink it with a spoon....blew my heed aff! Saying that, always liked a bottle of dog!

please dont turn this post into the usual racist jibe.its much more important than point scoring Noone is trying to score points or be racist. I was pointing out the facts that if someone posts on social media things that have been deemed to be offensive enough, they are dealt with by the cops, so why isnt this viewed in the same manner as that?

Think you can freeze distill without getting into the same legal problems....mate of mine used to make brandy and it would take your head off.....it was nice tho!!

Why are the cops not all over this? If someone posts anything sectarian or racist, that contains a threat or even an imagined threat, they are whipped off to the cells......why is this not viewed in the same manner?

2 years ago, took 10 mins from dropping my kecks to shuffling back out into a side room with my bollocks cupped gently in my hand....still attached, well sort of. Bloke that did it was a bodybuilder type, mahoosive shoulders, big brawny arms, looked fekked off.....think he was working late. Mind your hands if your are trying to wallop a big flat head through the filter.......its sair when you smack the back of your own hand in a rage. Also, if you are taking the priming pump off the top of a diesel fuel filter, mind your knuckles....when the ratchet slips and you whack your knuckles off the top of the block....it hurts real bad.... Good advice re the crushable sump plug washer....mind you i f you buy an air/oil/fuel filter kit, they usually come with the correct washers and seals...

I only ever touch the black stuff when I am in the republic....but when I do, I do! Landed there one friday and my mate from Churchtown had won a book of 50 vouchers for pulling the perfect pint in a Guiness competition...that was a good night....
