Why is jesus white in all the pictures? He was an ayrab!! He would have been brown or even black......got a clip round the lug a few times at school for that one....

Had mine of years ago, big fekkin props stood on them too many times, 1 was starting to grow sideways round me toe....got a local and they whipped it oot, some size when you see the whole nail. Was alright till the anesthetic wore off....never had a bit of bother with it since, the skin in the nail bed grows in like a callus...better than having to cut them. Theres a thing for the creationists, why in the name of fekk would a deity design a body with toenails??

not much round the Forth either, had a bit of success up at Findhorn on the firth, but down home there is not as many around as normal. Hopefully the weather will toughen up soon and we will get some numbers.

Lost one of my side ones to a stray boot in the ruck...just cracked it and it split a few weeks later when I was eating something. Had to go to the jaw-hauler to get the stump out, took 2 of them, I have fused roots on my teeth, comes out like an elephants tusk....one lad was behind me holding onto my napper and the dentist was kneeling on the arms of the chair with a set of pliers that he got out the 'special' cupboard, honest, looked like a set of 3 foot stihlsons my old man used at the plumbing......I can still hear the cracl inside my head when he finally got the fekker oot...

I used to get 2 or 3 of these every year. When the young are going out hunting on their own. They would get caught out in a storm sooner or later and try and take budgies or canaries out of the local bird breeders cages, injuring themselves in the process. I would get a call and have to go down and catch them, I had recuperation cages (giant hoods) built in a rack in the garage and I would get them healed up and release them....they heal up well enough under the right circumstances, as long as you dont use wire fronts on the cages, to prevent bumble foot. I had dowel fronts on mine.....

Anybody Make Yew Tree Bow?
Wullz replied to Lenmcharristar's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
We made them out of wild rose, that always made the best bows. Never seasoned them though, wonder what they would be like.....mmmmm -
Stood on a curlew once when I was out lamping, couldnt get the smell of keech out of my breeks for weeks....what a noise they make....

Apologies if its already been covered! But, does anyone know what happened to the lad that was camped in the layby off the A9 near Bruar? I was up at Inversnekky shooting last week and I noticed that the lad was gone and the layby was coned off. Anyone know?

Same as a lot of folks, wanted to be a gamekeeper, forester or a long distance lorry driver. Ended up being an IT Consultant....after being a heavy diesel engine builder.... Dad talked me out of being a gamekeeper, saying there was no money or Jack Danny in the keepering game - he was right!! But now I have enough readies to allow me to indulge myself in shooting and fishing and I have a an old P38 range rover and I help out on two local estates......fair play. Also, got a woodburner and a couple of chainsaws, so I play at being a forester too....life isnt too bad.

Typical Matt, you snooze, you lose! Cheers mate...

Hi Matt, what are the dimensions of the drop points? As always they are all crackers!

Katchum, above is spot on, keep the container, kilner jar or whatever in a cool dark place....first few weeks give it a shake now and then...keeps it activated....strain it through a good bit of muslin to get rid of any lumpy bits!! You wont regret it, its crackin....and this year is gonna be a bumber year, the bushes are hanging with fruit....did my rounds this morning with the dogs....
-
I've already had rhubarb and ginger gin this summer, it was lovely. Looking forward to repeating my bramble gin on a bigger scale than last year and I am going to try the damsons when I get my hands on them. You have to try the bramble gin, it's cracking.... Myself and a mate are also about to start our brewing lab in his place...looking forward to getting back into the beer and wine making, always liked it....

There used to be a guy through in Wishaw that did that Stevie, he started up with a couple of containers and a wee bit of someone else's yard. The last I heard he had a multi acre site and a massive house on a big bit of land he owned....cant remember his name, but he used to advertise in the wee ads in the back of the free car paper you used to get in the garage....worth a shot??

Sulphur ? It was always a bag of cement or a big box of Daz (or similar)!
