Fitting an adjustable butt pad to a HW97KT
pianoman replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
This is great Davy. I'm considering fitting these Bisley pads to my HW80 and possibly my HW77 if they will fit the butt dimensions. Best wishes with shooting it mate. Simon. PS. Helen sends her love too! -
Hi there RAV and welcome here. Spring or PCP? What's wrong with the Huntsman? I've seen a real cracking accurate performance in .177 from these. Have a look at Weihrauch and Air Arms. They produce some lovely stuff for left-handers. Pianoman

Testing the New Defiant HFT Pellets - PCP

Hmmm Daz and his frequent references to "Gaystate"..... It's a telling sign when a fellow repulses attention to a truth, by the frequent use of a counter-witticism... Methinks the gentleman doth protest too much! -
It would be nice if FAC options might be a little easier to obtain as a result of a general airgun licence. But I somehow doubt that making it harder to obtain a sub-12 ft/lb rifle will make it easier to obtain a 21 ft/lb one! There will be a clause on that one, you'll see. The only people who are penalized by the law these days, are the law-abiding. Criminals don't give a toss what our Politicians say or do and even less for the Police. The current shooting attrocity of little schoolchildren in Connecticut, America will not go unconsidered and mentioned in the proposal of licencing, e

its official the white population of leicester is an ethnic minority
pianoman replied to paulus's topic in General Talk
No my friend you are wrong there. What he and his bloody gang had lined up for us, was certainly not a better place! He wanted a thousand year Reich of pure blood Aryan Germanic people ruling the world their way. Not a melting pot of mixed races and cultures that we were formed from. Fancy working all hours as a servant in an Aryan household; or on slave wages in one of their factories? Happy to see your elderly parents carted off to be Euthanised so as not to be a burden on the Aryan State? Not me lad! -

I'm Anglo saxon. My surname "Atack" is a surviving Saxon name meaning "Dweller At the Oak" My heritage and ancestory has been traced back to 843 a.d and our arrival with the Saxon conquest and were were soldiers who fought for this land against native British tribes. We settled the north of England, defended it from marauding Scottish Celts, taught the indigenous British how to farm, how to build and turned our swords into ploughshares and have been here ever since. I am fiercely proud of my Englishness. But equally so of my Saxon ancestory. We were doing fine till the Normans showed up in 10 -
Happy Birthday dear Rake...many more of them to come pal! Simon

It is a truly lovely looking rifle Si. And well shot moore wktton89. The one spring rifle I would dearly love and cannot own. Left handers are not allowed to have that beauty. Pity. I would have bought two Prosports at least. Simon

Washing at least and weighing has become de riguere with H&N FTT. At least in .22 calibre. So far, they seem to be better in .177 (?). My HW80 FAC .22 has mysteriously stopped performing accurately with these in favour of RWS Superfields now -God knows why. Superfields are certainly more consistent, I have to say. But my HW77 .22 performs to its maximum accuracy on FTT, washed and lubed with a light coat of WD40. But, the way these pellets have gone down in consistent quality over the years and, getting worse lately; it has become a necessary chore. I can manage to weigh a hundr

Miles, if you don't own the land you are occupying and without an agreement or some kind of deal with the owners in place, what did you think would be the outcome? I'm not your enemy here mate but, for all the eloquence of your reasoned defences here, they are as useless as snowballs in Hell. This is not the country for people to help themselves to something perceived to be forlorn and abandoned, If I saw something like a beautiful old Bentley in a farm building going to hell in rust and rot, just crying out to be rescued and restored, to take it without the owner's consent is still steali

I'm afraid this is the age of the corporate bully and "this-is-mine-and-I'm-not-sharing. He will not win out because the law will not allow a man to live peacefully and inoffensively with the life he chooses. Someone has kicked the hornet's nest and cannot abide with having a fellow human being living and working for himself within sight or earshot. This is why, in the 21st century, we have fabulous wealth enjoyed by very few while others, despite working hard end up starving for proper food and fall prey to homeless-nes and poverty. That's a f*****g shame on this country's Government

Don't use a detergent with a whitener agent on cammo Ghillies??? When you wash your cammo though, it's an idea to leave it outside (not in bad weather mind!) and let fresh air and the smells of nature remove all those lovely-smelling fabreeze aromas from the fabric. What is lovely and sweet-smelling to us, is like the stink of Hell to our quarry!

Comfort at the shoulder and on aim is what makes or breaks a riflestock's function in shooting accuracy. The most accurate barrel in the world will not mean much if its action is bolted to a stock that you cannot hold and shoulder-align your eye to the sight properly. I cannot speak for PCP rifles but, after almost the whole of my 55 years shooting traditional spring rifles with conventional stocks, I now have a Thumbhole 97KT that is very accurate and easy to shoot. Though I'm adapting and slightly reshaping an HW77 stock (thank you Elliott!) as an experiment to see if that can lighten t

My very first ever kill with an air rifle. 25-30 yard headshot sparrow off the the rooftop of our house from the back lawn when I was a nipper of 8 years old. And it was a standing shot with open sights. Webley MkIII .22. I still remember it made a big mess of its head. It was a beauty of an air rifle that. Makes me cringe when I think of how I happily shot with this thing with no real concern for where the shot could go if I missed...till my dad tanned my arse for it! The bird population was safe after that. But I'd say that was still a cracking shot for a little lad!

One rabbit is better than not being out and getting something Jimmy. That hole in it's bonce looks like you hit it with a 7.62mm pellet! ATB. Simon

Testing the New Defiant HFT Pellets - Springer
pianoman replied to AR177's topic in General Airgun Discussion
A 5p group at 30 yards is more than proof of your own remarkable skills with a springer Adam! Got to try these in 4.50 for my own HW97KT that's for sure or you'll be whipping me off the course next time we meet! Where/how do I buy some without an on-line account? I do not use a credit card and I will not pass my bank details on a computer. Great result Adam and thank you for your kind compliments to me. Respectfully back. Simon -
What food is at the permission they are scoffing on Roger? Use that! Or Peanut butter on it's own is effective enough. These buggers will eat anything they can lay hold to! Simon

does a silencer make much difference
pianoman replied to festa's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Holy smoke that's a hell of a difference Gary. Question is, if you need a mod for a PCP, how do you go about testing one to find one that cures this? Hope you resolve this one mate. I don't like the sound of this! Best wishes Gary. Simon -
They're only having you on dear lad. Titan make a far better spring for your rifle. There is a sports supplies shop in Aylesbury that did a few air rifles. Near the cobbled market place. They might be worth a call in to, and find out who/where to take your gun to get fitted with one? (I used to live in Whitchurch!) Best wishes. Pianoman

H&N FTT .22 WEIGHT ????????????????
pianoman replied to davyt63's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
There is the swarf you find in H&N FTT pellets. That's why you should at least wash these and get rid of as much of it as you can. You really can't have that in your barrel my dears. Who knows what damage leadswarf might do over time and a heavy use? -
Thanks Simon..... He was slow at first but eventually Gary grasped what I was trying to teach him and he turned out ok......  All joking aside, He's not a bad guy is wor kid  Darryl DARRYL!!!

Aww that's marvelous mate. That is fantastic to have done for these youngsters Gary. You'll never know the good you've done but they will never forget someone who, instead of shouting at them, telling them what they will never be, doing them down, spent just a day of his time encouraging, helping, advising, give them a bit of praise when the do well, an encouraging correction when they struggle and don't give up. Maybe not all will make soldiers. But all of them will never forget the kind big fella who taught them proper shooting! Well done mate. Big respect to you. Simon

Absolutely spot on Mawders. Seconded!

I don't know how you canny buggers know how to tell who's who! Well done Archie and Mike.
