  1. Cheers Phantom. That's another testimony that there's a little bit of treasure to be found with this rifle here, under the cheapy cheerful image.... Simon
  2. :clapping: Happy Birthday Si. Enjoy your day mate , whatever you do, however you do it! :alcoholic: Simon Rock n Roll-playing Pianoman
  3. Andy, do you sell those long-looking SMK underlevers? Looks a bit like an HW77. I quite fancy one to have a bit of a tweak and fiddle with. See if it can be made better? It looks quite good, if you know the one I mean?!
  4. ...But it does have it's own rest on a rocking chair
  5. Alright lads, a jokes' a joke...But opening Collie's Christmas present before Santas' given it to him, is a bit rich! Maybe this really is Collie liam's Chubby air rifle!
  6. Yaaay! There you go! ASI SNIPER. What a cracking little air rifle this was. You could pick a Starling off a house roof at 25 yards with it's open sights; and its excellent trigger was lightly set. Pretty good let off and a very accurate little barrel made it a potent little shooter, I'm not bulling here. Terrific little Garden plinker and target shooter. I'm tempted to fish mine out of my parents place and restore it, if I can still get the bits and parts. I recognise the air pistol, but I cannot remember the name of it. Cheers for this Phantom. Simon
  7. Hello raymac. Top spring rifle. Air arms Prosport, or TX200. Or Weihrauch HW80K, HW97K HW95K HW77. All world class accurate sporting air rifles, don't need to buy divers bottles of air to charge them up and you'll have enough change for a decent scope. It your money mate, but I know what I'd buy. Simon
  8. .177 Prosport. That would be the one for me John
  9. Hmmm . If you can cock, load, aim and fire the rifle without any problems, I'm at a loss as to what else to suggest. Hope it's okay mate Simon
  10. I have a .177 TX200HC in my air armoury. I could fill a whole thread with superlatives about this little rifle. But I'll use just one to describe mine. PERFECT. Simon
  11. Never mind about the errors and this and that Gary, just keep going as you are mate and better tools will follow. I could enjoyably watch your shooting films buddy anytime A SPA for your persistance mate, well done! Simon
  12. Hi Fry. Nice to hear you braved this cold night and got a result for it mate . There's a peculiar effect of light in the dark viewed through the scope when shooting at night I find can be confusing. Even on the lowest mag setting, the sightpicture looks misty and cloudy. It's not an area of shooting I have great experience of but, I practice for it with range practice-shooting at targets under my gunlamp in the dark on my permission. You can annotate all the ballistic data you like but, there is no substitute for practical shooting experience. And that comes with hard practice Simon
  13. Gary, hunter1989, Big thanks to you gentlemen for your compliments Simon
  14. Hi hullhunter. Cock the rifle open and have a look inside around the protruding pellet breech. It may be the lining around that, that's broken. I cannot think of anything else in a TX200 that's as large as a 10p piece and could fall out of anywhere but the loading port. Hope it's ok. Simon
  15. Hi 19powpell90. First off mate, hit your caps lock key on your keyboard so you ain't shouting in capitals! Thank you! Right, if you are used to shooting .22 at thirty metres you'll love the 97k in this calibre. But .177 is equally effective in the right spot; through the brain! .177 will give you some great long range accuracy for target shooting with this rifle as well as an effective hunting round. But it's a beauty of a hunter in .22. ATB Simon
  16. Hi Wurz Fire 10 to 20 shots through your HW95 and get the oils and lubes around the internals warmed up and circulating at the start of your hunting session, you should be fine for the day after that. I get a bit of sluggishness with my HW80s on very cold days, and this seems to cure it. Simon
  17. Gosh! I haven't seen one of these for nearly 40 years. I remember shooting one or two ASI Paratroopers at the Fairs that came around, as a young kid. I had a little ASI SNIPER .177 garden plinker when I was about 13 yeas old (It's still at my parents' house) and that was a really accurate, great little air rifle. Cheers for posting that pic Phantom. Don't suppose there's one of the Sniper is there? Simon
  18. Hi DeerhoundLurcherman...! Sorry if I'm wrong but, I get the impression you are not a highly experienced air rifle shot. There's no reason to tune up the power to FAC levels or switch to .177. You just need to understand your pellet's trajectory loop from the power at your rifle's muzzle a bit better. And how it relates to your scope's reticle in the sightpicture. IE, where your shot is actually going under shorter, and over longer ranges than your basic zero. For example, if you zero at 25 yards and you want to be able to hit a target 15-20 yards further on, you need to raise the
  19. Hi Big Bald Beautiful. Really? All the Pro Elites I came upon were all FAC-only. But I often thought they would make a lovely sub 12ft/lb rifle. Do you still have it?
  20. I'd agree about the Pro Elite. It was a nice rifle but, it was an FAC only job. And not as good as the .177 FAC TX200HC. That's what I went for and cannot rate it highly enough. Hits a penny size group at 45 metres. But our friend here makes no note of having the ticket, so, it's a no-no it seems. Simon
  21. They should do Matt. They are capable of withstanding the thump and thwack of recoiling FAC spring air rifles mate. If I was after a quality scope for a .243, with not a lot of dosh to play with, I'd have a look at what Nikko Stirling have to offer. Nice stuff they have these days. ATB Simon
  22. Aye, I'll miss Guns International and Karl and everyone over there. I got my first HW80 back in the mid 1980s, as well as my current guns and scopes from him; and he was great for servicing and advice. It's been a huge part of my shooting past that shop and it's people. There's plenty of other shops around my area I can get ammo and scopes and bits and bats, but Karl was an old school gunsmith you really could rely on. He taught me a lot of points to watch for when I set about restoring and tuning my HW80K this year. That rifle was one of Karl's trade-ins and he virtually gave me it! It's a
  23. Looks like a drive over there in the morning!
  24. But do not use Google images in your posts....That really would cause a few of us to hit the keyboard a little hard
