The r10 has had an extreme make over Si edition.
pianoman replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Strewth! You've done an amazing looking job here Si. I was just over looking at the thread of your evening out with Andy (rossy08) before I picked this up. Personally, I love the classic look of nice woods and rich blueing. But this looks like a tactical rabbit-sniping tool now; built for purpose! All the best with it mate. Simon -
Great to read this Si and see the pics. Hey have you been spray-camouflaging your R10 bwana? Looks a different rifle ! But a 54 metre rabbit is classic form. Well shot mate . Blimey Andy you are a much younger fellow than I thought. You write with real knowledge and authority whenever we've had discussions on rifles, shooting or what-have-you. I feel quite proud and happy that the sport is in such good and certain hands for after older shooters like me are dead and gone. All power to you lad! I thinks it's proving a great thing to get out to meet the other guys and report on a sh

Hahaha GOTCHA!! I just knew you'd leap in with that one Andy! Yep the Weihrauch HW90 is a Gas Ram powered break barrel and it's a beauty....particularly in .20.... Or so I'm lead to believe! (It is seriously lovely!) Simon
-
Moley you are priceless! Let's keep the crap to a minimum here eh? The fellow has enough on here without a learned dissertation on Rabbit shite! Simon Edit to add...You know all those pellets of Rabbit poo that lie all over your shoot...are they the bloody rabbit's leftovers then?!!

This is something to read about declining numbers of rabbits on your shoot Darryl. I first though that I was getting unwelcome attention from poachers and other trespassers taking the warrens in large numbers but, I'm not so sure of this now. Especially after reading of your findings here. The rabbits are really very wary and aware here on my permission, from such numbers that I've actually seen and had a shot or two at. Simon

I have this scope Pipa. It's a remarkable scope for target shooting and if you calibrate it's dots correctly with your rifle, it's deadly accurate. To be honest though, if I had to start faffing about with that ABCD grid thing when a bunny pops up at range, I'd end up killing it with boredom! I don't bother with it, and I suspect, neither do other owners/users. Simon
-
Now that is utter, single-minded determination. Picks out one rabbit and focuses on it till the end. Regardless of the others just watching. I'd have thought the rest of the warren would have scarpered fast. Not just gawp at their mate being run down and killed by the stoat.

PM incoming Andy mate

Hi Wayney! That's an almighty rat shoot lads. But nothing would induce me to pick those filthy buggers up. Hope to Christ you disinfected your gloves and hands afterwards...Uuugh! Is that a Theoben Fenman in the pic? Haven't seen one of those for ages.

I must say Andy, you've had a right run of bad luck during on just about every shooting session on my permission you've had. But don't let it become a state of mind mate. Give us a shout anytime you want a shoot and we'll get this bloody monkey off your back with a right full on bunny bagging session. Arrive early, set-up early is the key to this place. We've seen how the kale crop is getting bashed and buzzing as the rabbits are clearly heading for those kale fields. Just give us a bell mate. Si, Wurz, thanks from me for your kind offers to help him here lads Simon

Thanks for sharing these pics Si. These competition shoots look great meet-ups with talented lads from the forum. Regardless of how the scores turn out. Nothing like the win though! :thumbs : Simon

I am an enthusiastic air rifle shooter and hunter who hunts rabbits, among other vermin. I shoot as often as I can which is not often enough! I am not a pest controller nor would I ever regard myself as such. But I just love the hunt. The precise kill. The well-placed accurate shot, The humane, instant despatch. That's what I'm out for. I want to see healthy rabbits in numbers and other vermin on my shoot. Not a landscape cleared and void of them! So I will happily shoot foxes, stoats, weazles, mink or anything else that takes them as a bonus. If I find poachers traps or snares

Thanks for the compliment Moley and good to see you putting it to work so effectively mate. Well done. Look after your rifle and scope and you'll have many more days like this. Simon

Which Scope To Go With An HW95
pianoman replied to shepp's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Two great scopes in those answers from Andy and Mark Andy's JSR Leapers is a little beaut and you should check out what JSR are offering. Bushnell Banner and Trophy series make absolutely superb, straight-to-the-point and robust optics perfectly suited to Weihrauch spring rifles. I use those along with some brilliant scopes from Simmons Generally, I have found Hawke scopes unsuitable for HW break-barrel rifles like your HW95 and my HW80 actually smashed a Hawke 4-12x40 reticle recently.. Unless they suit your eye's natural focus length and it happens to be short, I have found the e -
Thank you Wurz. It is a truly lovely place but it seems to be leaving a curse on our friends here! Si you got pipped to the post?!! With the skills I've seen you shoot by?? I rather think lighthunter might have top skill with his rifle, considering how good the competition up against him is, rather than the Heebie Jeebies going on here. Well shot at the HFT meet lighthunter; fair play mate . Si, Hell on earth is a day without shooting! I reckon you need an income to keep you fed, shed and watered so you can go shoot everyday (wouldn't that be wonderful though!). Heaven is

Well done moley! It's a lot easier with an accurate rifle and scope ain't it! What's this bait consist of then? Simon
-
Aww Rat shooting is just the best sport of all I reckon. If only my rabbit shoots were as prolific in numbers! That's great to read what young Mark is up to with his shooting too. Makes up for the lack of sport on my permission the other night Si, I'm glad to see for you mate! Simon

:11: I'll get it brought up from the gimp room and posted back this week Bill with a brand new tube of KY atb Jasp Wonderful!
-
Thank you fry mate, we found better sport yesterday (Sunday) on another part of my permission and there's a write up and pics from Andy and me. You look a nice couple! Simon
-
Thanks for getting write up started Andy and Moley for help with the pics. This is a lovely part of my permission, about 3/4 of a mile on from where we've photographed our zeroing and target sessions and you are right Fry mate it is vast. This is just one more field among many more yet. And so far, after a run of nothing happening at the further end, and a spate of very bad luck for Andy's kit, it has to be said, there was quite a lot of Rabbit activity out last night at this part of my permission. Thank God as I was beginning to wander what the hell was going on, with so little or n

Thanks Darryl mate. Looking forward to reading more from you and Gary about the permissions you have now. Simon

Just mounted an newly accuired scope .
pianoman replied to Buster321c's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Looks a Great set-up with your rifle Craig. What type of reticle is this scope fitted with? I hope your rabbits are a lot more visible than mine are at present. Good hunting mate Simon -
Oh my God NO!! it's her again ...that Devil's seductress...

:realmad: :protest: :11: Simons got to be Foggy Andy Compo and me Chegg Si Thinking about this, it's kind of spooky but. I think this is a pretty good comparison. Though I like "The Three MUSKETEERS" better! I am definately Porthos, as Oliver Reed played him.
