    Craig's point about power and field craft holds a lot of truth Peter. A consistent 10 to 11.5 Ft/lbs output makes for a far sweeter accurate shooting rifle than 12 or over, quite regardless of the legal schmeagle.     BSA Ultra needs a TENCH reg to get the best performance out of it. Very accurate though. BUT, IMHO AIR ARMS S410 makes the better rifle.

    Hi Shepp. Well, you know what I feel about spring rifles . Particularly Weihrauch. From the target here, at 22 yards, you have what I would have expected as a standard. A real, truly accurate rifle you can get great shooting done with. Nothing less! The H&N FTT are fantastic pellets for these German spring rifles and you'll have no worries with .20. The .22 issues I've had are a pain the Butt (intended!) but the accuracy of the majority in a tin, makes them worth putting up with.     Blimey Peter, it can't be as bad as this surely? Mark could have a valid point. There's a lot of Foxes about with so many kitts at this time of year. Or the poor weather may mean they prefer another area to feed when it's raining, maybe closer to their warrens or, within the sheltering woodland. The rabbits on my permission are never found at their usual hot-spots in the rainfall. The close range misses.     Hi Lew. You seem like a sensible lad and I'm sure you'll be safe, fine and happy whichever way you choose your shooting to go. Just remember that no air rifle, or any firearm is ever unloaded until you have made it safe. It is the easiest thing there is to forget your gun is loaded...until you touch the trigger And be careful with using wood for a backstop. It can whack a pellet back at you with rebounding force, while material like MDF wood fibreboard can be penetrated within a few shots from a .22 air rifle. I agree with Wurz. And Mark; Just to say thanks again mate, so kind of youy to help a fellow shooter out like this. The Crossman Premier Magnums were not a success with the HW77 mate, but, my TX200 .22 rifle loved them. Much better than Air arms Field 5.51mm and they were a pretty safe bet! I have resolved to keep with the .22 H&N Field Target Trophy for the HW77 and just put up with any inconsistencies as they manifest. The majority

    Goodmorning Gentlemen. It was one of those days when you can swing time off work and get out with your rifle in good weather. I gave Andy a bell and he was over in an hour..with condition. "I have to get back earlier than the usual dark hour finish. before Ten". Well a few hours is better than nothing so, off to field No.1 with a batch of rifles and some assorted ammo to test. We set up targets and zeroed up. Thanks to Markha's kindness, a batch of Crossman Premier Magnums and some elderly H&N FTTs from him and a tin of Accupels kindly given by Andy proved very accurate i

    Westlakes' a pile of cheap horrible shite mate. Tin cans and paper in the back garden are fine but against fur and feather, you'll need to up as close as possible or chances are you will miss or, if you hit anywhere, it will likely be a wounding shot and that's not sporting. If you are going to shoot something to kill an animal with, you need accuracy and proper power to get a successful headshot at distance. Get a good and proper .22 spring rifle like a BSA, Webley, Air Arms springer .22 Weihrauch HW80, HW77 HW95, HW99S, HW98 spring rifle; or HW90 Gas ram. Plenty of these around for goo
