  1. I bought a white handled fieldcrafter from you just before Christmas, I love it, proper quality tool that will last a few lifetimes.... I much prefer buying something hand made from a British craftsman. Whether it be a knife, dog collar, fishing rod ect... I think a damascus fieldcrafter would be a nice thing to own...
  2. I use mine on full mag with no bother, What do you mean "finicky to keep the in view on target"?
  3. I struggled to see where my rounds hit paper with my .223 at 100 yards, Just got a cheap Hawke 3-9x50 on it. But it put a fox to sleep at 280 yards last week and holds zero, it has inspired confidence in me so ill continue to stick with it for now... Dont think I would want much more mag than 8 9 or 10. Reason being is when that fox pops out 40 yards in front of you and you have a scope wound up to 20, you wont find foxy in the scope!
  4. Yep. Be a shed load cooler when you start to find oil in the wiring loom to the ecu and she starts to misfire, or the fuel pump fails......I had over £7000s worth or repair receipts come with my TD5, before I dumped another grand at it...Never again
  5. Well, I've had the .223 just over a month now. Done a few longer range targets last week shot two rounds at 250 yards and the bullet holes touched, which gave me real confidence in both my shooting and the cheap hawke scope. The drop at 250 with a 100 zero was about 4 inches with the 55grn Vmax. So last night the conditions was perfect, back out on some local permission saw number 17 and 18 go over, After that first night where I shot 10 and missed 2 or 3, There is a couple of real shy ones on there...So no squeaking and pissing about with the lamp, as soon as I spot one the lamp goes stra
  6. A mate of mine has a hawke adjustable mag scope on his .22lr and the zero changes when he winds the mag up or down. I like the idea quality fixed mag scope... Zero the .22lr at 60 yards and learn the drop off out to 100..
  7. Whereas before he was hitting around 40ish for 70... He swears by it and highly recommends it...
  8. My mate had a jones stock adjuster fitted to his Beretta by a local gunsmith who supplied it and fitted it to him for 200 notes, he hits on average 60 out of 70 clays now...
  9. I hope you charge him at least £20 per hour, cheeky git
  10. A good off road 4x4 which drives nice and is good on fuel Which ever option I have looked at there are compromises. Excellent off road capability will kill your mpg and on road manors..With having big mud terrains and lift ect... I have a big diesel landcruiser with BFGs and lift kit, so pretty good off road but shit on fuel and doesn't drive that nice... So you buy one motor and settle for compromises on both sides, road manors, MPG / off road ability.... Or if you can afford to, you keep your skoda which is doing 50mpg and buy a cheap 4x4 and have it for off road, with big muds
  11. I would go for a second hand lanber or bettinsoli, 12 bore over and under. £300/£500 should get you a tidy multi-choke gun which wont lose much value
  12. Obviously not really important, but I'd like to know what ive got...
  13. This chap claims to own one... http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/showthread.php/89740-Tikka-T-3-Stainless-223-1-10-quot-twist-accuracy-test I don't know how old the gun is Deker but the bloke I bought it from said he bought it new 4 years ago, whether that's true I don't know. It says "CAL .223 REM. 12" MADE IN FINLAND" on the barrel....... I thought the 12" meant 1 in 12 twist. But why do I get a full rotation of a patch on a rod in 10 inches? If it took more than 12 inches to rotate fully then I would have thought the patch was slipping forward slightly and rot
  14. Wheres your video then.....At least 5 in under 15 seconds....
  15. Lower meaning, the number lower yes, meaning a faster twist.. Tikka t3 lite in .223 is currently being made with a 1 in 12 as far as I am aware, 1 in 8 can be ordered but will take 6 months... Mine I am sure is a 1 in 10...Just be good to hear what period they made the 1 in 10 and why they stopped?...
  16. Can you let the dog off a lead and call it back? If not I'd start there... You need to break him to the ferrets and livestock first, other wise his first ferreting trip might be his last....I wouldn't fancy the challenge myself...But I'm sure you will get some good advise from others on here who may or may not have been successful in stock breaking 5 year old ex racers... Good luck
  17. Thats what I found when I looked it up... Just trying to find out when they made the 1 in 10...
  18. I bought my tikka t3 lite in .223 second hand recently, I was told it was a 1 in 12 twist and that it shot up to 64grn bergers grouping and inch at 100 yards.... Ive been using 55grn Hornady vmax with good results, but talking with the bloke in the local shop, he tells me a 1 in 12 wouldn't stabilize anything over 55grn. He said he would be willing to bet his months wages that it wasn't 1 in 12 if it did group with the 64s and that it would be a 1 in 8 if it did. I looked up how to measure twist rate and had a go, it appears I have a 1 in 10 twist? Did/do tikka make a 1 in 10? Or h
  19. If I was shooting a fox at anything 0-50 yards I would sooner pick up my .22lr (if it was granted for fox) than my .223. Deker what ammo do you use for foxes in peoples back gardens? Are ricochets a potential problem? And ow do you overcome the issue?
  20. First I thought dymented was taking RSPCA to court, now LL, your saying they are taking him to court? Sounds to me like Dymented is going to win a case against RSPCA and you know it, so come on here to stir shit up in the hope of him let slip on some evidence...Or scare him into backing down..... Keep at them Dymented. Sounds like they already know they've lost...
