  1. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/294747-friend-using-my-firearm/?do=findComment&comment=3269221 I asked the same question recently......
  2. Both crashed out a couple of years ago..................
  3. A couple of inches of welding a new brake hose/pipe and bleed the brakes. An hours labour plus a new hose/pipe. £100?
  4. You would really benefit from someone showing you the ropes. Someone who knows what there doing though eh.......
  5. Good shooting, how much would your bullet drift over that distance with that wind? Cheers
  6. Agreed, there should be two sorts of prisons, the normal prisons today should be for your average abh, criminal damage and the likes. But to put people like this in the same place is a joke, who gives a sh*t about how many years they get when they are in there with three visits a month and in the gym heated cells and food. These things need throwing in a cold dark hole on their own, beaten daily .....
  7. I know there are many pros and cons for both, To make it easier I will state these circumstances ...... Lets say you have one dedicated rifle for foxes and one for lamping rabbits.....what would you use for the rabbit gun.. Edited to say please don't vote just because you have one or the other, lets have a fair comparison for the job stated, by folk who have experienced both calibres........ Cheers
  8. My mate waited 10 days for his SGC. Got it last month.Kent police..
  9. How else would it be possible to get a bullet lodged in the barrel? Genuine question coming from a newbie to firearms.....
  10. I have no experience of the HMR but even so I wouldn't have assumed the first bullet had fallen short, I would have defiantly checked the barrel before loading another........
  11. Always surprises me that this never happens. especially with cases like this when the lads not even broken the law. He should be giving it the whole post traumatic stress... loss of work... anything to make an example of them.. or just go to the press, they love a story about how crap the police are I was on bail for 9 months for something one of my mates did in a nightclub. 3 magistrates appearances and 4 at crown, 3 days off for solicitors meetings. Ten days off work in total. I got £40 back (travel expense for crown court only)................ yeh but presumably the thin

  13. Yes, but I wouldn't shoot a fox further than 60 yards with my .22lr. I have shot 2 or 3 at 60 yards and closer now between the eyes, and although the power is there up to 100 the bullet drops off quickly so I wouldn't be confident in making a clean kill that far. You might struggle to get anything other than a rimfire because of the size of the permissions and being a first grant, and if you want to be shooting foxes out to 100 yards plus then I would be asking for the HMR. Good luck...
  14. I use a tracer ledray tactical 800 on my .22lr.......... It goes further than I need. probably about right for a HMR
  15. I have 1000 acres to shoot on and applied for .17hmr and .223, I ended up with a .22lr due to lack of experience (I too had an air rifle and sgc for 4 years). A friend of mine has literally just got his SGC but now he has been out with me he wished he had applied for both SGC and FAC. He phoned the FAO to see what he had to say and he said ideally he would like him to have had his shotgun for 6 months before granting a FAC... Now I do love my new .22lr but it does ricochet like a c**t. If I were you I would go for a rimfire first, if you want to be doing foxes from the off then I would pr
  16. Any photos of said bitch? Don't see many on here...
  17. If its for nothing mate he'd be going to the vets Thats not why it would be going to the vets But seriously, put a f**king muzzle on it then. W**ker
  18. The only statutory bans on holding firearms are if you have received a custodial sentence over three months but less than three years which is five years, or if more than three years, a lifetime ban. Other than that, you can quite easily be granted a firearm or shotgun certificate if you have offences within 10 years, sex, drugs and violent offences included. Of course, any refusal or ban can be challenged in Crown Court. Please correct me if I am wrong, if you go down the Crown Court road then the loser pays fees which can be a few quid.....? Cheers...
  19. Nice one, I fish a lot just round the corner at Dungeness although mostly winter time. There has been a few big bass down there. Was there no mackerel about? Cheers...
  20. Not worth getting involved if your an employee, to much at stake for you......Say you did shoot a dog, you risk losing your fac/sgc and you risk your boss's business going up in flames (literally) then your boss might blame you, there goes your job.....
  21. Sounds like you want rid to me.......I wouldn't give my dog up for no f**king magistrate. Man up and look after your dogs
