Yes mate,it is. I wont go back to dried food. To me its just a lazy substitute of the real thing. If you want the best out of your dogs then you need to put the best in. Give it proper.

I feed once a day, just before I go to bed. So no chance of running the dog on a full stomach. Just changed my dogs diet from prize choice mince "pets at home" and beta dried, to raw chicken carcases from the butchers or whole gutted and skinned rabbit/hare or whatever else, with some brown rice (going to change that to just a small amount of pasta or brown bread) and liquidised veg. Its cheaper for me to feed this way, better for him and his teeth and less shit in the garden. Its a win win. Exersize will depend on how old your dog is and how active/fit it already is. No good anyon

Rifle Recommendations
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to Bunny Boiler's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
This is my new cz452 which I paid about £800 for but that was everything including 10 shot mags, hard case and everything else. The gun was about £350 so I'm sure you could get a new set up for about £500. If I could change anything I would rather have bought a fixed mag scope... Very happy with my cz, and would recommend one. Cheers -
Nice pup, looks like a bit of tiger in there somewhere.........

A gamekeeper not far from me has an ex police dog in his kennels. The thought alone is enough to keep most folk away lol

A whippet will be a good general moocher, but you might be better off with some terrier blood for bushing/mooching. And as for foxes...........Its dogs for jobs.........

Wanted Ferreting Dog
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to woottonsheart's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
steffan1991 Don't out your dog because it chases sheep. Put in some time and effort and stock break it. Failing that find it a reliable pet home. Giving your dog away is not the answer, probably to a pedaller who will breed from it from the word go and produce more shite. Or have it up on gumtree for £200 next week, especially this time of year. -
Why breed from a two year old bitch?

Landlining From Sea Shore
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to FERRETBOY's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Yea, I would do it on the right tide. Set it last knockings and pick it up before its light (winter time). Probably anchor out the line and clip on the pre baited hook links next to the water as it comes in......... But be aware of sinking sand and fast tides. Never go it alone at night. I fish allot winter time and dig my own bait with my brother. St Marys bay is a big place when the tides out at night, On a big tide it comes in at fast walking pace............ Cheers -
Landlining From Sea Shore

I have wanted to do this myself, but never have. The ones on ebay are like 3 or 4mm nylon braided rope. You can easily make your own though. Hook size would depend on the species aimed for and the time if year, I would use 30lb snoods because they can potentially have a fishes teeth rubbing on it for a whole tide. But I would go 40lb plus winter time... 5-10 foot apart should be ok. I think it would be a case of trial and error to perfect it. -
Just bought a little suzuki vitara hardtop today, it needs a sunroof or shooting hatch. Needs to be a proper job, anyone fitted there own? Cheers

There Are Some Lovely People In The Dog World
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to a topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
If people didn't buy pups from people like this, then there would be no market for it.......Too many lurchers for sale on gumtree and pre-loved type sites. -

Well done! Here is a case of pure animal cruelty and neglect, and for what??? Be it peddling pups for money, then surely it would be in the c*nts interest to look after their bitch...... I don't understand why anyone would do this........

My lad is 3 year old, 27inches deer grey with a splash of beddy 5 generations back. Good coat, feet, nose, very robust and really chilled out at home. Does ok on rabbits, enough to please me. But something clicks behind charlie, with rabbits it seems they have the advantage but its the other way round with them. Has the pace for long ears as well but wont "run clever" behind them, its all or nothing which I love... Would I have another......Yes as an all rounder but as a rabbiting dog no, But he was never going to be a rabbit dog. I would like to put him over a slightly smaller rac

Not a defender but I just lifted my landcruiser by 2 inches. just springs and shocks. But if I went 4 inch then I would have needed adjustable panhard rods and longer brake hoses/pipes. Also just to see exactly how much lift you get, measure from centre of hub to bottom of wheel arch. Mine was 50mm lift but went up 85mm because the 20 year old springs had sagged.......

Stupid dog.......... -
My lad sometimes scratches his head with his dew claws and I think he caught his eyelid with it. It looks like a small red lump in the corner of his eye, but it goes back inside if stroke his head......kind of hard to explain so I thought a photo would help. He did it a couple of weeks ago and it doesn't bother him at all. It may be that he has ripped the corner of his eye lids making the eye opening fractionally larger exposing more of the tear duct? Anything need doing? Or will this sort itself out?....

Breeding Lurchers From Scratch
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to Sirius's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
After seeing so much peddling and time wasters in this game with my own eyes and the effort and expense of breeding my own, I wouldn't be that keen on the idea.. I would much rather find a good bitch to breed to my dog with when the time is right and keep a pup back. And repeat, also when the time is right. With the intention of constantly improving "my line". I like the idea of thinking this 3 year old dog at my feet will be the great grand sire of my dogs in years to come. All worked hard and earned the right to produce the next generation.
