  1. So you can still put light rounds through a 1 in 8/10 aswell? If so why do people bother with the 1 in 12? Cheers...
  2. Thanks for the replies... So what is a standard twist rate for a .223? 1 in 12? And if I get more twist, I can run a heavier bullet when needed? But how would this affect lighter rounds? What would be the result of putting a heavy bullet through a 1 in 12? Cheers..
  3. I got my FAC back in June , during the interview the FAO recommended a .22lr first, which I got..Great little gun which has taught me a lot. I had originally applied for a .17HMR and a .223. I was sent a letter with my FAC just sating that I had been refused said calibres due to lack of experience, but to re-apply for them in 6/9 months...Which would be classed as a free variation... Now the time is nearly here... I have been thinking about a .243 instead of a .223....for my first centre fire... The new rifle would be used to lamp foxes.....No deer in the area.. Are you more
  4. Always good to read how your getting on Dan. Love the photos. Do you treat your dogs often for bites? Or do they manage to stay away from the sharp end?
  5. This took about 4 or 5 weeks to heal without stitches. I trimmed the surrounding hair washed it twice a day and let the dog keep it clean, but kept an eye on him. I would staple it if it happened again... As paulus said if your going to staple it, it needs doing asap......
  6. Landcruiser 80s will swallow 35s and the wheel bearings are rated for 300,000 miles. Head gasket is advised to be changed at 300,000 as well but many go over 400,000.... 3 difflocks and leather heated seats..!!!!
  7. I was in your position a few weeks ago.....Wanted a pup with real potential out of good stuff, but only found crap on preloved and pets4homes. I put a little thread up like this one and the PMs came flying in, sifted through the crap and found myself a little cracker! Paid good money for him and travelled 3 hours... So glad I did. Stick with it
  8. What rod you buy should be determined by the type of fishing you do... If you fish close in, summer time on clean beaches then an 11ft bass rod would be my choice.... If you are blasting 6/7oz leads and big baits in strong headwinds, with weed about, you need to step up to something with a bit of poke to it...... If you use a fixed spool, penn surfmastes are worth looking at.., But I am not up to date on FS rods although my brother used a daiwa sandstorm, which I didn't rate much, too soft and wagged about in the wind and tide...He then bought a greys grxs, which felt better....
  9. Is Dolly your bitch you kept ROBERTO?
  10. It worked for someone else who had an air lock.......
  11. Might be worth a try for the sake of a few quid on a can of carb cleaner?
  12. SORTED!! I didn't bother disconnecting the FPR fuel return hose and purging again, as the hose is short and space limited, so difficult to get a suitable container in place. Fuel would have ended up all over the shop! However, discovered that I had HomeStart as part of my AA cover ()! Chap turned up on his motorbike which I thought would be no good for a tow-start if needed! But with 2 booster batteries attached and a spray of some carb cleaner up the old air intake manifold whilst I turned it over, it reluctantly fired up! Been for a couple of spins this weekend and all seems well with the
  13. I would firstly look in the fuel filter just to check that it is brimmed. Heres something I found...
  14. Not 100% on this but do they not bleed themselves of air when you turn it over?
  15. Did you fill the new fuel filter with diesel before you fitted it?
  16. Pull the ecu plug apart check for oil in the loom. If its turning over and there's fuel getting through is it not likely to be electrical?
  17. I'm in Ashford. Eyes and ears..... Good luck
  18. Bold as you like. Well socialised. Nothing bothers him. Already 90% house trained. Sleeps all night. Good appetite. Be good to see the other pups from the litter.... Here's Chief.... First night at home after a long drive..... Met the cat straight away..... New toy to work on retrieving... In the van.... First bit of warm fur.... Today's walk, growing fast... New smells...... Watching the big dog....
  19. My advice would be stay away from them. I don't think it would do you any harm to phone in but then I certainly don't think it will do you any favours...... They are not there to help any one but themselves....They will soon have your number plate on the system ect.......
